I highly recommend getting Kenton's "Little book of Wonders" with his variation on Hoy's Tossed Out Deck. Contrary to popular opinion, the Tossed Out Deck was NOT originated by David Hoy.
It first appeared in the late Ed Mellon's mentalist journal of the 50s MENTAL-WISE. Its originator? The late Orville Meyer, the man who also originated Annemann's Bullet Catch. |

I just put up some updated info on my tossed out deck named the Outlaw as well as discounted pricing. I will be adding some video clips of a perfectly clean any card at any number using the principle.

Iain,
Lee Earle & Larry becker had a tossed out deck in the 90's. I do not recall the name of it but it was done with the deck ending up in a banded card box. Can anyone recall this version? I remembered it was called "out of Body". Although it is not a tossed out deck as I thought. Effect: Out of Body - A card is freely selected while the spectator is out of the room, the deck is cased and yet the performer easily divines the card with no fishing! It is on the video Mental Masterpieces, Becker. |

As states above, yes it is. Sorry the videos taking longer then expected. It's a two minute any card at any number and the audios cruddy. Im working on it though.

I have a tossed out deck routine that can be shuffled, shown front and back, spectator can shuffle it. But I use it so for the time being underwraps.

Try Cody Fisher's TOD. You can show all different cards. Spec can shuffle. And the routine is brilliant.

I would like to recommend Luke Jermay's "Extended T.O.D".
It's very good. But I'm not going to. Rs.

I would offer that the written vertion of Tossing & Turning is the best and most advanced vertion of TOD.

Just like booktest...there are many ways to do this type of effects,....but in the end it will be Your presentaions & YOU as a Mentalist/Performer that will make this effect be remembered by your audience...Or NOT!
Back to your original Post, I think Paolo Cavalli had his own weerd T.O.D with Mind Reading as a Premise...then he add a Hallucination Effect as a Twist I wish I could use it.....since I don't do Cards in my Act...Oh well :-( |
