My concession is that you should indeed be able to watch the performance by the pro in question, BUT after that, you should still get the explanation. In other words, the best of both worlds on one DVD. Its technically possible. In fact, MANY DVDs offer both the performance and the explanation. In other words, the performance being included on the disc does not and should not preclude the explanation being included to go with it. Case in point is Sankey"s new Front Row DVD. Here you get to both watch Jay perform for a live audience, THEN you are treated to the explanations to all the effects. To me this is the best bang for the buck.

Agree, but in this case, some of the non-explained items are one the market, like Hundy 500. On the other hand he explains Dishonest Abe even though it's also on the market.

For you guys (including me) who wanted to see the disk with 'Recap' on, it's on disk two and so far I can't find the explanation - it would seem to be performance-only, which I'm very disappointed about. I've not watched the other two DVD's so perhaps the explanation made it on to one of those - I'll let you know unless someone else already knows the answer ?
This aside, an excellent DVD set so far! Jamie.

Jbadman-
If you don't find the Recap explained later on the set, it is thoroughly covered on Wilson's "On the Spot" dvd set. You can probably find it used or find somebody willing to trade for it on the Café. Cheers, Tiki |

I'm surprised about Recap. It didn't say performance only on the L&L site. That's ashame because I too was looking forward to a new handling of the effect.

Hi Tiki,
Thanks - but having spent quite a bit of money on this DVD set and it being advertised as having 'Recap' on it (not marked as 'performance only' as the other performance only routines were) I'm not really inclined to spend even more money to get the explanation. I was *hoping* the explanation was somewhere on the DVD's but maybe not properly included in the menu or something. Jamie.

L&L, are you reading this? Seems like more than a handful of folks are dissapointed in some details. I'm really surprised you guys didn't think of this when you put the DVD together.
Myself, I'm one of the fortunate ones who has the "On The Spot" set, so I won't be hurting as far as recap, but I can imagine I surely would if I was one who received the new DVDs and saw that wonderful performance of recap, and couldn't find the explanation! That's kind of like holding a t-bone in front Of Fidos nose, and jerking it away at the last second! Not nice. Not nice at all! C'mon Louis, you guys can do better than that! We remember the days when you put out the Ammar Easy to Master tapes, and there was the ADDED value of a bonus routine, PLUS the neccessary props. Now THAT was something special, and I gobbled those tapes up with alacrity. Now don't get me wrong, even at that, I still think you guys have the best DVDs in the business, and over all the best value for the money spent, but dang, we miss the good ol' days! Posted: May 10, 2005 1:08am After receiving my DVds in the mail today and watching them, I feel I have to retract whatever I said about L&L and offer my apologies. I spoke to soon. These Greg Wilson DVDs are an incredible value for my money. I feel that I received more magic than I will ever master in a lifetime. They are all I had hoped they would be, and much more. Watching Greg perform for real people is a great pleasure. He has such fun doing his routines, and his spectators take their cue from him and they have incredible fun also. I could watch him do his stuff a thousand times and never tire of watching the chemistry and the interaction between him and his audiences. Incredible, simply incredible. And for those of you who haven't ordered the series yet, you have GOT to order it just for the pleasure of watching greg "wiggle his ears" seven dwarfs style. It will have you rolling on the floor with laughter! I laughed so hard my sides hurt! and I came away inspired to come up with new routines for my stand up act to rival what I saw on this DVD. Man, you GOTTA get these! Worth every penny! Thanks Louis!

If you haven't purchased this dvd set yet, you can purchase it new from:
http://www.madhattermagicshop.com Madhatter Magic Shop generally charges only actual postage (instead of inflated shipping and handling charges). In addition to http://www.themagicwarehouse.com, Madhatter Magic Shop has some of the best prices on the web. It certainly hast the best prices on dvds. Cheers, Tiki |

If I were to summarise what these DVD's were about it would be audience management with some real life workers thrown in as a bonus... the DVD's show how the sum of the parts are worth more than the whole - not just a set of tricks/routines but so much more...
If you want to learn a list of tricks as long as your arm - buy a book - if you want to learn how to perform, buy any of Greg Wilsons DVD's...
catch you later

Sounds like quite a few of you were disappointed that Recap was performance only with no explanation. I have Greg's "Off the Cuff" VHS video and Recap along with a number of other GREAT impromptu effects are all explained in detail. I liked this video so much I recently picked up the DVD so I'm willing to sell the video for $10 + $3 shipping (includes delivery confirmation). PM me if you're interested.
