I'd love to see some footage of the old masters.
All I came up with on the internet was something by Cardini: http://www.magicshane.com/magician/videos/ cards/ZakiRafihCardini.htm Fred Kaps: http://www.fredkapsdvd.com/ I guess there's not much on say Max Malini as he died in 1942, but maybe somebody does have something? |

You made me think about my collection of old footage Luckymoron, amongst which is the complete set of Presto Super 8mm reels, 15 reels in the set all in their origional boxes showing such magicians such as a very young Ken Brook doing amongst other things the Cups and Balls, Linking Rings, Sponges and silks. Also there is Will Dexter, Lewis Ganson card fanning and another couple of past magicians that I do not recognise. I am going to put these on the For Sale section.

You might check out our dvd of Percy Abbott performing with sound in color! Only one of it's kind in existence...he performs 13 minutes of his classic effects...a real treasure.

SAM has a great library of film. In the early 80s I moved some of it to VHS tape and returned them to the library. Check them out.

Thanks Julie,
Life moves on. No wonder flash powder is getting hard to find! The photography processes keep changing. Bob |

We can thank PNP Jay Gorham, who was also the Film & Tape Librarian before accepting the office of International President, for personally converting much of the vintage material to DVD before passing the mantel.

My hat is off to him! Thank you Jay!
So much of the stuff was just home movies that simply don't exist anywhere else. It could have been lost so easily. Once made digital it can be reproduced and stored in multiple locations. Good move! Thank you for the update Julie. I know that you are very active in preserving magic history and properties. Your efforts are appreciated. Bob Magic By Sander |
