OMG!! That was incredible!! Cardini's misdirection was poetry in motion!! Magicians of his caliber are rare today and I agree, I love seeing the old masters in action!

I have footage of Kaps, Slydini, Bertram, Charlie Miller, Cardini, Vernon, and numerous others on DVD and VHS. Most of these were from friends of friends of friends. Lots of hard to find stuff. You just need to ask around. All of my footage is private and I can't give it out as the person who gave it to me made me swear secrecy:). It sucks, because it is REALLY good magic. Google the names and you will find clips here and there.

Marlo is probably the easiest to find old time magician. One of the best, too. I've seen a DVD on Penguin from '82. I forget where it is, though.

So that's a nothing on all posts except ImpromptuBoy's chicagoroundtable.com? And that's one short routine by Racherbaumer and mostly Rosenthal. Or did I miss the good stuff?

Most of what you're looking for is privately held - and, unfortunately in comparison to other arts, there probably isn't much in the first place. It will be truly unfortunate if when the owners of some of this footage die off, the video footage will die as well. Of course the whole issue is much more complicated than that, but that's the general idea - if you can't seem to find it, it's not available for your viewing pleasure.
