I have been thinking of making a custom made suit / coat for magic. Basically my interest in it started due to an inspiring Pat Page video (old one) on topit magic but one that will have the bonus of easy acesss for retrieval.
Secondarily, it also makes sense to me to try and incorporate in the coat design extra pockets and space for other gadgets like pulls, clips, droppers etc. in optimal postions for easy use. Someone at the Café graciously gave me lots of design ideas for a topit and its been great but I am looking for more advice and sources on designing a coat for magic. Anything from colour, material to best locations for clips, droppers etc to even the size of the pockets. BTW, It's hot in my country all year round, so it would make sense that the coat material and lining should not be of too heavy and warm materials. Thanks in advance
Many Blessings!!

You may want to think about contacting Lisa Richards. She travels with Jay Scott Berry, and she does phenomenal work. http://www.sewmagical.com Click there to contact her and see examples of her work. She does all of my Topit/pocket work for me. You should have seen the coat she made for Jay. Absolutely beautiful. She is also one of the nicest people in magic. Hope this helps.

I agree that Lisa does great work, but I don't know if you need to go to the extreme expense of sending your measurements to the States to get this done. I'm reasonably certain that you have people in your area who can make a really great suit or two of a material that is worn in your part of the world.
I would recommend that you go to a tailor, and explain to him that you need for him to make you a suit that has special tailoring to accommodate your "gadgets." He will make a muslin dummy of the jacket, and that will become the pattern. You can hide a lot under your vest if you wear one. Things need to be located in places that are easy for you to reach with a casual gesture. That's about all I can tell you.
