What do you guys think of it? I read on here would be great working with PSYCHOKINETIC PEN by BANACHEK. Should I buy jump? Is it hard to do? What are some effects that can be done? Can it be done anywhere? I'm in a wheelchair so could I still do it? I know $90.00 is a lot but is it worth it? Thank you in advanced......

Skitch, Jump is an electronic piece, precision made. I got this, and so far I think the main constraints are:
* There's a noise problem. That's all. So do it on stage. Close up performance is almost impossible. As to whether its easy, yeah easy to perform, really. Just focus on your presentation. Basically u can make something 'light'pops up from the glass, etc ie Jump! As to the definition of light - it depends. U need some experimentation. Comparatively, it is very very much easier to do compared to P.Time, but the latter is supposedly for close-up, whereas Jump is for stage. Personally, I recommend Jump over P Time. Hope it help. Happy performing |

I'd second that, it's a great little gimmick. We use it in combination with PK Pen, first the pen moves a bit and then it really moves. It does make a noise and I've heard of people using it close-up getting the spectator to hum to mask it. Personally we're making something to hide ours in plain view which may go someway to providing some noise insulation.

I saw the video for this on John Kennedy's website, and you I absolutely cannot beiliev that, the effect is worth $90.00. Does the video on the site not do it justice or what? Who knows....

Hi,
I can get this effect second hand for £35. Is it worth that? Also, can it not be used close up only because of the noise, or would close up reveal the working? Thanks, Lewis. |

>because of the noise, or would close up >reveal the working? The instructions say you can, but I'd never risk it. I think there's too much exposure by way of angles (the sides can be handled relatively well, it's the over-the-top angle that you'll get burned on) and lighting. It's like twice the price of the Stealth Retractor and I get way more use out of that in most situations. Unless you've got a great venue or use it as a routine highlight, consider your needs carefully. |

I do apologize many of John Kennedy's website video's were not filmed very well, I think maybe that is just a poor filming of it.

HN Review 30: Jump! - John Kennedy
AD: A pen rests inside of a cup. You concentrate, stare at the cup, and something strange happens - the pen jumps out of the cup! With Jump you can make a pen, pencil, spoon, or straw jump out of a cup or glass. You can even make popcorn pop right out of its bowl! And no one will know how it works because they can examine everything afterwards. REVIEW: Good gimmick, but also very delicate: mine tangled a dozen times so far. The effect is great (a few spectators really jump!), but it's not meant for really impromptu situations, and for sure not with a borrowed item. I set it up in advance at my home, with everything in place. The timing mechanism is invariable - a mentalism presentation probably would have benefited from a longer delay. Overall rating: good H.

In my opinion, we do not care how pretty the gimmick is, because no one is going to see it.
And, if you only do the pen-jump-out-from-the-cup effect, of course it doesn't worth $90. Try to be creative, there are a lot of effects you can do with this little device. Yours, Michael Lam
