I don't know many of the guys outside the bizzare forums. So, I like to stick with my family.
I just ordered two royal magic items. I know those guys put out the stuff for beginners but I never picked them up until now. I purchased, the disappearing shot glass. And the psychic choice. the one that never fails. The shot glass I got because I was wondering how it was done to be honest. hoping maybe to adapt a principle off of it. And possably use it. The pyschic choice, I have a feeling it is going to be magicians choice. Are either of them worth the price? I think I paid like six dollars for both of them together. Your friend, ~Mayo

Weeeelll,
the moderators might not see it that way, but we'll see. Why would you think none of us leave this comfy little forum and poke about elsewhere on the Café though ? You'll see lots of me in the Trick review forums (a couple right now regarding the effect "Little Smoke", and other forums such as "Up in Smoke", "Secret Sessions"," ITRs", "Workshop" to name a few.. For six bucks, how can they not be worth it ? They'd have to be pretty stinkin' bad. I'll PM you about what you just bought, at least for the shot glass trick.

Best cheapy royal magic item...Budah papers. You can use them as is or modify them with old parchment. If used in the fashion that (unscrupulous) fortune tellers use them the effect can be very powerful. Still new on this forum but you guys always have the most interesting posts. - Cinemagician

Ah, but are you going to vanish a shot glass -or do you belive that the Dark Lord needs a refreshing beverage?
Seriously, I've bought a fair amount of cheap tricks in my day, but most of them can be used in SOME way (almost never with the original props). As the hoary old line goes..."adapt it and make it your own," who cares that it's a vanishing shot glass, but they might care if it were some sort of rare antique at least. Azrael

Hi Mayo :
I'm sorry and wish that I could help you but I’m not familiar with Royal Magic's disappearing shot glass or their psychic choice. But I do agree with cinemagician. Royal Magic's greatest effect is their Buddha Papers! Here is the effect: The magician opens a set of folded papers and places a small object inside. The papers are then re-folded. Upon opening the package of papers again, everyone is astonished to find the small object has changed into a dollar bill, or even vanished! The possibilities are endless. Buy a set when you get a chance because Buddha Papers are great cheap magic! Gerard

This part of the forum is so refreshing! You guys don't rubish tricks, you see possibilities.
I don't perform bizarre magic but am constantly inspired by those that think this way! I may cross over to the dark side eventualy!

Hi Mayo,
Remeber the effect is what you are buying, everything else comes free! With your creative mind , I cant wait to see how you present either one. I started out with "tricks" that were marketed in cereal boxes. But Im a lot older now, Come to think of it..I remember when the dead sea was sick! I'm sure you will enjoy both. But let us know what you think. Magickman

I also think bizarrists are a more creative lot, as you can see - bizarrists often take mundane old beginner's tricks and develop entirely new uses and routines around them. Docc Hilford is very good at that, as is Christian Chelman and Borodin (Ulf Bolling), to name but a few. Lastly, bizarrists aren't necessarily all skulls and goth, though many are - but the main thing is that they do magic as it was originally performed and intended, by shamans and mystics, so bizarre is also more profound. Gospel magic is really just one facet of bizarre magic, but gospel magicians probably don't want to see it that way because of the evil "pagan" influences associated with it.

How very well put! Bizarrists HAVE to be more creative with their stories, because the patter that comes with almost all tricks is so gawdawful bad! Fortunately, most of them are! (Creative, that is.) |
