Hey, I was just talking to my girlfriend. She ate a piece of ice and said you'll never see that ice again. That got me thinking. I told her that the same amount of water has been on earth since the earth began. The ice she ate could have been made of water that was in a dinosaurs lungs. OR.. mabey the water in that ice cube was evaporated from the blood of one of Elizabeth Bathory's victims. That got me thinking. You know the effect where you produce a "real" ice cube and it drips water. Well, what if you go off on the subject of the water being around for centuries, then do the bathory part and when you say the last bit the Ice cube starts bleeding. You could force a cube or what ever. I suppose you could also just borrow a cube from Mysticians freezer. Let me know what you think. I offer this idea to all my bizarre bretheren.

That's actually not a bad idea. Not terribly hard to accomplish either.

Plasmacubes are handy things, so long as no platelets get in there - hemostasis interferes with the freezing process, besides, the "pulp" is yucky -or are you talking about my Bloodsicles ? They're homogenized.. or is that hemogenized ?
A little A/B blood oughta do the trick, only how do get the B to the A that's in the hole ? Have a drink with "B" in it, drop the cube in, blood appears ! You can't drink that stuff though can you ? I think I remember reading that it's toxic. I just got one of those "ice cubes" from HP last week, they're pretty neat (I was going to say cool.. but bad puns are rampant around here), but a bit on the large size, making them a bit hard to palm. So, it's been sitting on my bureau getting dusty.

Yah, I think its totally worth discovering a plausible method. I suppose you could make an acryillic red ice cube, and then taking the one from your drink. Do a Topit change, then display the red one. OR L-- it if you are sitting down. I love when ideas just come to me. if fact I think that that is the first effect I've ever submitted to this forum. hmm.

Don't bother with chemical methods, you can't drink that stuff. Simple is good. How about a little rubber squeeze bulb with stage blood? If you can do coin magic or cups and balls you have got the methods to hide things in your empty hands. You know how to ditch stuff too. So with the right misdirection (blood running all over the white linen napkin or tablecloth, nothing like the red stuff on white, right?) this is pretty straightforward.

Great idea and story line -- and drwilson comes up with a good, solid and workable method.

Sounds like a good idea. Hope you don't mind if I use it. As far as Dr. Wilson's method goes it sounds pretty good although I'm trying to picture the logistics of it. Would the ice cube have to be out of site when you pulled that? Is there any way to do it where the cube is in full view as it begins to drip the "blood" or whatever?

One word: D'Lite
I just bought the translated copy of Sheherazade, there's an effect in there where you use a d'lite with a goblet to change the water into blood.. or red wine, if you prefer.

Grimm,
Imagine a sort of handwashing move in which the ice cube is like the bar of soap. It never has to go completely out of sight. While you are going this, you are focused on having the blood drip onto the napkin and not get all over you to draw the focus away from the gaff. Yours, Paul |
