After 30 years of doing a regular magic act I have developed a strolling clown character. I will be pushing a shopping card (the kind that fold) with balloons inside and baskets to hold my props. I have incorporated some of my magic act tricks into the act but was wondering if there were some ideas out there that I haven't thought of.
Thanks for the response Hobie

Visiting an online magic shop should give you some ideas.
I went to the Magic Warehouse, clicked on General then Kid Show Magic. Since you have a cart I can see a lot of potential. |

Thank you Jaz for your input. I figure if I was going to be a hobo I better have something to contain my belongings (magic tricks).
Yes there is potential and I'm coming up with more ideas every day. Thanks again

A hobo clown, eh? Try some of the big funny sponge props or check out an online store (like Jaz said)
You have some pretty good ideas.

Hobie,
Have you checked out T. Myers' website? http://www.tmyers.com/ It is probably the biggest balloon supplier in North America and has a host of related items for magicians and clowns together. |

Some great strolling ideas for clowns (and kid magicians) include foam multiplying bananas or carrots (I prefer bananas for the MANY jokes that compliment the props), foam frog production (Frog in throat...you should see it when I'm a little hoarse!), Stiff Rope, Sponge Balls, Sponge Rabbits (3-D, of course), Spring Flower, Rubber Vanishing Coke (or Ketchup) bottle, Palm Squeaker, Mini Change Bag, Thumbtip Blendo, Dishonest Abe growing penny, Professor's Nightmare, Loose Ends, Ninja Rings...the list goes on and on!

KISS--Keep It Simple & Silly
Try to develop some food related patter like: Professor's nightmare--spaghetti comes in different lengths, Chinese sticks--magic chop sticks, other cultures use different utensils. sponge balls--soft jawbreakers? bunnies--the more they eat the more there are. TT silk--always keep a napkin handy or in your ear! wand thru balloon--since you have balloons already. disappearing crayons--some places hand out drawing pages and crayons. paper hat tear to chef hat--don't know if this exists but ask your local dealer. I also like a ketchup squeeze bottle with red yarn to squirt people with white shirts.
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.
