Thought I'd give people a heads up, if they're not already aware of this. This weekend, in addition to being Star Wars weekend, is the World Rhythm Festival and Days of Percussion at the Seattle Center. This is a weekend filled with drumming and related topics workshops and performances. Plus various vendors will be there, selling drums and other rhythmic devices and paraphernalia.

Anyway, long story short, I'd think this would be good for busking out there, since it'll bring more people to the Center than would normally be there, and many of them will already be in a "spend money" mindset, thanks to the marketplace. The only problem I can see is that they might end up being over-entertained--there's dances to watch, groups to listen to (and dance to), etc. Plus there's all the workshops.

Regardless, I plan on being there, both as an attendee, and busking. Assuming I get my act all the way together by then. I've got my ending, finally, and my middle is almost there. My beginning will depend on if I can get an idea realized or not, and then I'm done except for intensive rehearsing.

Just thought I'd share and let others who might not have known about the event know about it.

PS. My ending is this: get the audience to use the drums they've brought/bought, or hands/voice if sans drum, and get a rhythm going. Build it up for a bit, then stop it suddenly and float via Elevator. I'm planning on finding a spot that prevents people from being behind me, and using the two spectators holding my hands method. Smile What do you think?

Hey,
Sounds like a great event to be part of. You may want to consider the noise factors that might be present. The ending sounds great also. Go get 'em! Let us know how it goes.

The re-souling of magic should be the aim of twenty first century magicians-S.H. Sharpe

Oh, I know there'll be a lot of noise indoors. The noise level outdoors should be about normal levels. Just about all the workshops are held inside the various buildings.

Thanks for the encouragement.
