Hi all,

Does anyone know any books, videos or dvds that teach some chop cup moves other than the basic ones?

thanks

What do you mean by 'basic'? Don Alan's routine is probably the most cited as the quintessential chop cup routine - but his moves for the cup were so natural and entertaining and so often imitated that they may have become 'basic'......

The Don Allan Chop Cup routine. It is about $15. It is a very short book, but contains all the good stuff.

That is what you NEEED to get!

It's called the Complete Don Alan's Chop Cup by Ron Bauer - full of anecdotes and comments by DA...from most any real or online magic store.....

Don Alan's routine is on video and available from Stevens Magic Emporium. I plan on getting the booklet, too, but the "why"s of the video routine are largely self-explanatory if you've written a lot of routines and perform a lot.

I think John Bannon's routine in Impossibilia teaches a great routine.
All the things I see in chop cup routines I hate are pleasantly missing in his.

If your serious about the chop cup then get the Stevens Video. You will get valuable information from watching Don preform & explain what he does.

Thegreatgeorgio:

The Ron Bauer booklet mentioned in one of the above posts has Don Alan's Chop Cup routine in it. Don's Chop Cup routine is almost essential to learning how to use the Chop Cup.

There is nothing about the chop cup in the Dai Vernon Book of Magic.

The Ron Bauer book on Don Alan's routine is essential. Every detail of Don Alan's routine is minutely examined, all the timing of each element, including those that the audience is unaware of. This is the routine that was supposed to have been in the Racherbaumer book, but didn't make it.
