I'm curious, what kind of effect did you have in mind?

Advertisers use subliminal or suggestive selling ploys constantly, its perfectly legal.

This might help answer your questions.

It's a fine line and I've heard differing conclusions, but I would go with: It is illegal based on the laws concerning deception.

You can come up with 5 other links that tell of the "Vicary" hoax by typing: "subliminal advertising movie theater" into your browser.

I'm not clear if you want to get money from people using subliminals or if the messages would be used for entertainment purposes only.

I'm not aware of any law against embedded messages per se, but I'm no lawyer. Either way, the browser information, above, should allow you to research the subject to your satisfaction.

(Edit)magicbygeorge is also correct, but I'm assuming you're asking about the kind of messages that are unseen - repeatedly flash a desert scene with skeletons laying around at 1/3000 of a second so that the consumer is "unable" to use their decision making and discretionary capacities, all designed to sell a glass of coke. That as opposed to a sixty second "movie" of a beach full of overly social, half naked bodies playing volley ball, enjoying coke. In the second example, 'subtle' messages are used, but the consumer can see them and (presumably) make conscious choices.

skillful use of words and copy would probably be more effective than subliminal messages.

There are free downloadable software that allows you to flash subliminals on your own screen. Apparently you can chose the affermations depending upon what you are working on changing.

Bandler seems to be playing around with hypnosis on a website...not sure what I thinkof it though here is the link.

Subliminal advertising is illegal (in most cases). Writing hypnotic statements that Powerfully Grab you by the throat and shake you, are not.

Specific words designed to move you now to act, have you See the Benefits, Hear all your friends Complementing you on your choice, are not.

Words designed for you to remember the last time you felt so happy you couldn't stop smiling, smile so much the people around you would look at you quizzically, before they also start to smile. This product I have in my hands will not only make you smile so much like this, but everyone that comes near you is irresistibly drawn to you because you feel so good. So next time your arm moves from the keyboard to the mouse, you will wonder what phone number you need to Call Me to get that wonderful, ear to ear smile.

Enjoy!
