Hi here is the accurate (as I can make it) discription of the effect I am
working on, can peopel have a look and make comment an any bits that don't seem as natural, or ideal as it could. as a note the trick works mathmaticaily 100% accurate 5 time out of six,( the odds are increased by some psychology) and has a few diffrent posibal endendings/ variataions I will discribe the most common way it works also if people could PM me possible solutions etc it may give me some more ides as to alter this and make it better The mentalist, takes a deck of Zenner cards from a card case along with an envelope, he then places the envelope containing a prediction onto the table propping it up against his card case. He then takes the top 5 cards from the deck and gives them a quick shuffle, then fanning the cards face down he askes the spectator to give a number between 1 & 5 which will be where the cards will be seperated and the cards either side of the seperaction point will be discarded, (the spectator will for example chose 3) {any number can be chosen} the cards are squared, and the top 3 cards are rotated on top of the packet by 90 degrees one by one. then at finger tip, the cards imeaditly above and below the indicated point are drawn out by the spectator, and discarded face down onto the table. The mentalist then reveals the 3 remaining cards to the spectator as they are place onto the table face up one by one, the spectator is then asked to select 1 of the cards by drawing it out of the line, across the table towards themselves. Then from the 2 remaining cards they are asked to pick them up and give one to the hero, and keep one themselves. This having been done they are asked to open the prediction envelope and read out the pridecion. It correctly reveals who is wholding which card, which cards were initaly discarded, and which is left in the middle of the table. cheers Mark any questions ask, I will try and provide an answer based on just what people would see, as at this point I'm just trying to streamline the effect and make it as natural as I can |

Just on first glance, a set of Beyond ESP cards, some eqivoque, and a dollop of Free Will thrown in could well set you on the road.

If you're using eqivoque then it will be clean if you are practiced and confident. It's a nice idea and I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be fine as long as you've thought it through, filed down the rough edges, and have a script as smooth as a baby's bum.

Couldn't you just use equivoque here and get a hit every time that way?

I could do, but what I have tried to do is mix up some methods, and add some truly free choices at either end to try and mask the equivoque, the number to ascertain the speration point of the cards, as the selection of which of the 2 cards at the end they keep and give to me are both truly free choices
