For those who live in the UK,l the Helix Rubber Band Trees are excellent. For a start, they are coloured, and keep their colour even after stretching. The sizes are consistent (5 sizes, 5 colours) and they are thin enough for doing snap effects and ring rising too. I can only find one place that stock them now in the UK - The Stationary Box. If anyone knows of other places that sells them, please let me know

I would never disagree with Ammar, but #16 is a very small rubber band, most other men use a #19, and some women use #18.

I purchased a 1/4# box of STAR PURE RUBBER BANDS at least 10 years ago in size 18 and they are still as good as new and I find them ideal for most routines. They are a bit short for Pinnacle but useable. They just don't seem to lose their elasticity and they come in size 8,10,12,14,16,18 and 19 in a 1/16" width and in a 1/4# or 1# box. I think they came from Office Depot but it's been so long I can't remember where I got them. (They are made by the Alliance Rubber Co.). Well worth the search.

Following weeks of waiting, half a dozen dead ends, a shed-load of mouse clicks and another dozen telephone calls I finally have my rubber bands.
Having failed to find any one local (or even in the UK) who could order Alliance Pale Crepe Gold rubber bands for me, I simply telephoned Alliance directly. I picked a name and telephone number at random from their website and called the guy. Turns out they are based in the small town of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mmmm. Hot Springs. He seemed pretty chuffed that his rubber bands have such a good reputation amongst magicians and kindly -- oh so kindly -- offered to send me a sample. The package arrived two days later. His "sample" of size 19s was very generous; if he had doubled the amount I could have registered myself as a limited company, Malcolm Russell Rubber Bands Ltd, Wholesaler. So all hail Alliance Rubber Band Company staff. They rock. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any more rubber bands for the next little while. That is, unless I can locate some #20s. I asked the man whether they carry size 20s. His answer was, "well, we could MAKE you some," but I imagine he was talking about truck-loads rather than a bag or two. But this has still not put to rest my curiosity about size 20s. Dan Harlan apparently swears by size 19s, as most of us do, yet on Band Shark the rubber bands around his wrist appear to be hanging down somewhat loosely. Size 19s don't do this. His don't appear to be any WIDER than a size 19 (ie they don't look like size 30-somethings or 60-somethings), but maybe that's just the way they look on the DVD. And I still own a handful of rubber bands I was given by a kind postal worker that I have measured and compared to a rubber band size chart and which are indeed size 20. Curiouser and curiouser cried Alice. Malcolm |

Yes I am the guy with the Back together bit in Dan's video. Dan and I come from the same IBM ring in Akron Ohio, I now live on Orlando Fl. and do computer network support and do table-hopping at a dinner show on weekends.
http://www.ring170.homestead.com/mark.html I love doing the bands.

It may be. I was shown it by Jeff McBride the year he was at F.F.F.F.

I just got a pack from Mike Ammar's website and they fit perfectly for the CMH and other band tricks.
