I just bought a Magic By Gosh Multiplying Sponge Balls set because My fingers hurt too much after doing multiplying billiard balls. Question is this: Is it alright to go into Mark Wilson's spongeball routine after doing the multiplying balls or is this just too much sponge for one show?
Thanks in advance, Sammy the Kid |

No, I think Mark's sponge ball routine is a great follow-up. I've been stealing that routine from Mark for decades. Some magicians do their whole set with one object, and have made a career out of it. I know several guys who do Daryl's rope routine as their only act and do well with it. Know others who do only sponge balls, so go for it. Sounds like a good second, got a third you can lead from Mark's into?

Don't have a good third yet. Any suggestions?

Yes, Sammy, I do a whole routine with sponge balls and sponge rabbits. One of the things I do is Jim Cellini's ball routine with a sponge ball. It is a fantastic three minute routine with balls vanishing and reappearing several times. He uses rubber balls, I also did at first, but you can switch to sponge and still get the reactions.
