Is anyone familiar with Lovecraft's "Mountains of madness," by Docc Hilford?
I saw the add on Hocus-Pocus. Seems to be a complete bizarre-magick show.

Ok since no one has yet to post in this thread and over two years have passed the time is now.

I just recieved this book and I must say it is brilliant but if you are not an actor this is not the act for you. This takes some serious acting chops to pull off without people laughing but if done properly though the effects are simple, as a whole the experiance will be an awe inspiring on. I love this effect because it uses all sorts of tactics 1)visuals 2)sounds 3)Smells 4) and a rather engaging story

I highly suggest this if you like Bizzarre Magic or Seances though this isn't a seance it has a similar feel.

HIGHLY recomended and I have no regret spending howevermuch it was I seem to forget lol.

Best,
Kyle

I found this a very worthwhile purchase as well. I agree that you would have to have a degree of audacity to match Docc Hilford to perform this, but there are some very useful ideas in this book that have nudged me along in my own thinking. There is a nice discussion of marketing this show. A pep talk from Docc Hilford is always great to read.

If you are thinking about doing any kind of seance or ghost show in a parlor setting, this book ought to be in your library along with Eugene Burger's Spirit Theater, Lee Earle's Manifestations, and Corinda's Thirteen Steps.

It is refreshing to read a seance presentation that doesn't have nineteeth-century spiritualism as a premise.

Yours,

Paul
