Someone on the Café mentioned that there will only be 2000 copies and it will not be reprinted. Does anyone know if this information is true?

Well I'd rather wait for someone informed on the Café to answer this question. I'm sure he's pretty busy with all the orders for the book.

2000 copies for a magic book is a large printing. That is twice the average. Many magic books only see 500 copies.

Just finished reading it. Two words: Get it.
For all card workers this book will be gold. It holds the best Impossible Location trick I have seen. You will fool yourself badly. |

I finished reading DMF last night and it was an awesome read, but… the material in the book is far from the AWESOME stuff in S&M.
I'm not saying the material is bad, but S&M is JB's masterpiece!!! |

Agreed. A very good book, worth buying, but not up to the level of Smoke and Mirrors (or Impossibilia).

Got mine today - looks like it's a gold mine. Can't wait to learn the poker deal I saw Alain Nu perform on TV- it fried me. John spared no expense in book layout, photos, and illustrations - this is a beautiful piece of work. Also the small form factor is very attractive.

Slydini62: Just to let you know what our market supports - 500 to 700 units (of anything, let alone a book) actually selling is "average". 1000 units selling is a best seller. 2000 units is almost unheard of . . . Bannon must be expecting these things to move. I expect he will sell 1000 pretty quick. The next 500 units over the next 6 months, then he'll be sitting on 500 units in his garage a while longer. I know compared to Harry Potter which I just read will print 10.8 MILLION copies to start (!) this sounds paltry, but it's really not. 1000 units out the door almost immediately is outstanding.

Doug that's really interesting. If only 2000 people in the world own books like Impossibilia, Smoke and Mirrors, or even this book Dr Mr Fantasy, then this magic information must be tightly secure.

Not to mention that it's in a book, so almost all the material will be secure until Bannon puts it on a DVD

I plan on buying the book soon and I like most people have read what everyone has said on this site about the book so obviously I will probabbly skip aound to the effects that get the most written about. |
