Grow? Let's hope not. He and another like-headed attendee sitting together at the ADVANCE conference this year were mistaken for Dolly Parton by Terry Evanswood during his "Magic Beyond Belief" performance. Can they get any bigger? Very good! I will have to bug him about that. |

I just acquired Barry's Reaching For the Stars, which I needed for a "Circus Stars" theme show. It is well made made, has nice colorful props, and a great motivational theme for kids. It played so well, one teacher at the last show came and made a comment to me about how wonderful the message of the effect was...

I use one Barry Mitchell item more than any other prop, with the exception of Wolf's "Funhouse". The "Flag-O-Matic" has been a staple in my shows for years. I was lucky to recently acquire a "new" second hand one, as Barry stopped making them some time ago. I have made several modifications to the prop, which allow for many more gags and visual comedy. Of course, it's a mis-made pirate flag, and has become a favourite for all ages in my shows.
Other items that I find very engaging are "Super Sleuth" and "The Magic Box". Strangely, Barry has released a couple of pirate routines, I bought one, and it just wasn't for me, the other I believe called "Trash to Treasure", was a simpler version of one of my already established routines. So I don't perform either of Barry's pirate effects. Barry is a wonderful creator, thinker, and performer. I believe he has something for everyone in his large catalog of routines. Potty |

I love both his books on creativity - they're wonderful!
I've used the Selfish Sultan routine multiple times and it always is a blast. --Jack

His "Footy Prints" are by far the very best value for any children's preformer. They are KID MAGNETS and are so brilliant that I hate that he thought of them and not me. He doesn't always make them, so if you can get them, buy two sets and don't ever let go. Money VERY WELL spent.
As far as tricks go, I could rave even longer. I use "Mother of All Diamonds" in a Science show and it kills. I use "King Eno" in a show on the writing process and it plays very well as an interactive effect. If Barry Mitchell makes it, you'll like it. More importantly: your audiences will like it. --Julian Franklin Educational School Assemblies |

I love the "Trash to Treasure" square circle as an opener, and I also use his "Mother of All Diamonds." I tried the "Selfish Sultan" and it didn't fit me. Nor did the "Moo Masher." On the whole, he is very creative and has some excellent tricks up his sleeve. And his customer service is second to none. I've been meaning to try "Super Chicken" and just haven't ...

I've been preparing his Inspector Iwannano show for my upcoming summer library program. Today I performed it for the first time at a school with 100 students (gr. 1-6). Of course, being that it was the first time I've performed it, there are still some bugs that I need to work out, but overall it was received quite enthusiastically by the kids and the teachers (especially the person who booked me).
My favorite effect in the show was the final one, the Mother of All Diamonds. It literally got gasps has the diamonds poured from the cup. Great show, with great routines. I'm looking forward to perfecting this during the summer, and then promoting it to the schools. Brian |

Yup I use can opener, but I don't do it as an opener, it is too long, imo for that, for my pacing of the show, I break it out mid way thru

My pleasure Jack!
This is a wide open theme with lots of possibilities. Barry Mitchell and Jim Kleefeld both are outstanding thinkers and sources. |
