Hello
For a routine I am building I want to paint a set of the Morrissy alluimum Bramah rice bowls. Do I need to rough the surface before I do so? I am not an expert so any help is appreaceted Phil

Very much depends on the paint you'll be using, I'd suggest acrylic or polyurethane paint. A rough surface isn't neccessary, but it should be clean. With aluminum I'd suggest you use acetone to wipe off all grease etc and then use a good primer (from an industrial paint supplier). The best prep for the surface would be a chemical immersion process, but that could be expensive and whether it's available in your area, I don't know.
As for paints, Createx Auto-Air airbrush paints are very suitable for metal and come in a variety of different really cool varieties (like iridescent colors). These paints can be applied with a regular brush as well as they're not very thinned to begin with (but still sprayable).
