The NEW book - "Full Metal Jacket" - looks really good. The video (- "A Logical Lesson",)on the front page is awesome, and J.C. Wagner back in print is great for the community. I think Syd has mentioned that it will be out this week too! !
Unfortunatly it is limited to only 500 copies.......... but EVERY COPY will be signed by BOTH Syd and J.C.! The book will soon be available at http://www.meandjc.com Anyone else buying this when it comes out? - Lapping. |

Lapping-
This is definately on my immediate purchase list. Both Syd and J.C. performed a couple of the effects from this booklet for me down at Little Club on Coronado Island two weeks ago. I'm really excited about it's release. Matt |

Hey guys... thank you for the kind words.
I will give you a few more details about the booklet. It totals in 36 pages with 52 illustrations from RFA Productions (Channel One Magazine). In total, their are 7 effects (with multiple methods) ranging from self working to advanced. All sleights needed are included with complete credits and references provided. Also included is aninterview with JC Wagner on his life and experiences with magic. As another bonus, video clips of certain moves taught throughout the booklet are available via email if needed. Would it be possible to have a list of effects performed with a short description of each effect, I think that way that will generate more sales for you.

They include: Thank Le Paul - 4 Aces transpose with 4 indifferent cards... each more impossibly than the previous with the final in the spectators hand. Final Closer - The final, updated version of JC's infamous "Super Closer" routine from Commercial Magic. Also included are 2 variant handlings one of which makes the routine completely self working. Very Fair Triumph - The title basically says it all... this triumph, again self working, has a VERY convincing face-up/face-down shuffle sequence that sells the illusion. Packet Lie Detector #2 - Another self working masterpiece in which a lie detector packet determines whether the spec is lying or telling the truth. The highlight of the routine lays in the final question. A spectator can name ANY card and using the lie detector packet, that card is spelled out to reveal the actual selection. T(w)oo Wild Jokers - 3 Jokers are shown and set to the side. A card is selected and turned face up for all to see. One at a time, the Jokers change into the remaining 3 mates. This routine is VERY visual and uses a face up color change that is hardly used in magic. Also included are 2 variant handlings, one of which produces a Royal Flush instead of a 4 of a kind. Even More 4 On The Floor - After 4 indifferent cards go through some visual twisting phases, they are shown one at a time and dropped to the ground. One card is simply stepped on by the specs and that card is turned over to reveal a selected card from earlier in the routine. A Logical Lesson - The video clip on the site details this routine... Suffice to say, it is the highlight of the booklet for myself and JC. S.Segal |

I think everyone who buys Full Metal Jacket will be very happy with the quality of the product. The writing is clear, the layout professional, and the illustrations many and detailed. The effects are also very "commercial" - stuff you will actually do in working and/or playing environments. I think this coming out now is excellent for JC - a way for us to get back in touch with him and enjoy his magic. Those of us who know Syd will also benefit from his stunning magic. I predict this to be a sellout.

I had a chance to look through the finished product last night. I second everything that Doug Brewer just said. This looks great. I'll be picking up my copy from J.C. this Saturday. Can't wait.

I had the most honorable time to see both JC and Syd perform a few of the effects in person. And they are amazing! Very comercial routines that you will start performing today!
Not only are you gonna love the material but the illustrations are fabulous. I believe that Rosie did them and you can tell that they are of the utmost quality. This book should be on everyones want, no make that NEED-LIST. Thanks Syd for coaxing JC into releasing a few of his best kept secrets. |

I have mine and it's really fantastic. I read it this morning, and have tried all of the effects. A logical lesson is a great piece of magic. All together there is lots of great magic in "Full Metal Jacket".

Mike BTW, In the "A Logical Lesson" effect in the manuscript, while properly crediting Larry Jennings for the "Rhythm Count, JC very modestly fails to mention that he (JC) used the Rhythm Count in his "Queens Debate" effect on the Brad Burt video of the same name. While written descriptions are nice, it is especially nice to actually have a video instructional reference demonstrating this move. Watching this count on this JC video really helps you learn the proper rhythm for this count.
