I posted this question in a different thread and only got one response so I'm thinking it wasn't the right place to put it. The trick costs just shy of £40 so I want to be fairly clear on its status before committing to a purchase. This will be my last post on the subject as I don't want to abuse the forum by repeated postings. To the point...
Can anyone comment on the Russian Wallet trick? It's the one where a ring is taken from a spectator, it vanishes only to appear wrapped in a small silk square which is in a wallet, which is in another wallet, which in turn is in another wallet. Is it any good? (Is it worth the money?) |

Well if you can find wallets that nest together correctly for under £40 then go that route. The wallets themselves are completely ungimicked, as is the handkerchief thus making it completely examinable at the conclusion of the effect. You can order this in the States for between $40.00 and $50.00 dollars
TheMagicWarehouse.com has it for $45.00. The angles on it are pretty good, the reset time not to bad and the over all effect is pretty good, but then I've always been a sucker for nest of boxes type tricks.

Thanks Payne - when ever there's a Russian Wallet question to be answered - you're the man!
I've got a wife who's pretty mean with a pair of scissors and a sewing machine, so a cheap option is always available - unfortunately I don't know how the trick works. To be honest, I've not really thought about it that much. I don't want to know the secret, I just want to know the impact on spectators. From your response to my original post it seems like you've figured it out yourself and seem fairly impressed. I'll probably buy the trick if I think it's worth while, as it seems the honourable thing to do. I'd just like to know if there's anyone else out there, apart from me and you, who has seen the effect. (or paid money for it) Catch you later, Beetroot |
