Anyone out there have Prism, the Max Maven book. I already found 2 routines that are going in my stand-up act already. Anyone else find anything intereting for stand-up/stage material?

This book is a goldmine of effects. I love this collection and it is one of those books I am going to re-read annually to get more stimulus from. Even Max's wroting style makes me think of new ideas.

Best,

This is one of the classic texts of mentalism. And rightfully so.
But, since I own the original color series (except the yellow one ) , I wonder if there's a lot of new material in this tome ?

I think I recall reading that Max said he was not updating the original texts.

There isn't any new material except the Introduction and some footnotes, though I think the text has been slightly revised for clarity's sake

This book is absolutely wonderful! Everything in it creates inspiration, I love it.

What were the two that stood out for you?

I liked Desire and the triple prediction effect from the blue book along with gometric coin and the four sided triangle. I have yet to perform any of these though.

I've used the Four Sided Triangle, though I changed the patter a bit. I felt that the "four sided triangle" bit didn't fit me so much.

I'd also like to say that this is a treasure trove of material. There is one item, however, that I'd like to do but can't because I can't find the particular item that I need to do it. If you have the book, the routine is called, "Chaos", and it requires a Bimetallic disc, also known as a jumping disc. Anyone happen to know any company that still carries this, or where else I could possibly get one?

I did an internet search and could not find the disk. I wish I could.

I don't have Prism yet, but after reading this thread, my curiosity got hold of me & I, too, searched the Web, hoping to help you guys out.

I think the disc is called a Spencer disc.

And as for a supplier, my first thought was Edmund Scientific as a likely source, but it doesn't show up in their online catalog.

Then I found a link which suggests that Edmund did sell them for years, but do not any longer:

So no luck (yet) in finding a supplier, but the following web page contains a video of the Edmunds disc in action:

Can someone give a brief description of the effects in this book?
