I'm not one for reviewing before I have a chance to work on the trick and do it for people. I will answer some questions about this. I agree with horizon's review. A beginner may need to work on it more though. Ther's a self-working method for beginers however. It is as hard or easy as you want to make it. emyers99 if you do not give it away, it is .possible. to do it again without a break. pm me to explain more if you get it. But if that is what you want you might stick with coin in bottle gimick. The trick has potential to be great. if you want to do what the ad says it will do it. I'd get it again knowing what it is now and the price is great. I look forward to trying it on people. It says there's a demo but I didn't see it.

Got mine today. Still playing with it, so I'm hesitant to give it a full review. Here are some initial thoughts:
It will take some practice, no doubt. The claims made in the ad are all true however. Regular bottle, regular coin? Yep, and yep. There is some preparation involved, and it will not instantly reset, but it should definitely fool people if performed correctly. The instructions also have several alternate handlings, including ring in bottle and key in bottle...those look fun too. For 15 bucks it's certainly a bargain. Gotta go practice now..... |

The trick is great. Trying to log on to the extra tips section of Abyss is very irritating. The first question is easy but for the life of me I have looked at the directions every which way but can't see to come up with an answer they like for the second question.
Aren't two questions a bit excessive? It would have to be a total fluke if you answered the first question correctly without the directions. Any one that lucky deserves to see the tips. |

I finally cracked the Da Vinci Code/National Treasure-ish second question on the Enchantment website and got into the Abyss extra tips section.
That's where the demo now resides so bad news to those who have asked where it disappeared to. You're going to have to buy the trick to see the demo. Tips are worthwhile. A word to those who buy Abyss and visit the website. The second question on the Abyss extra tips section is NOT a trick question. There really is something in the area they mention. At first you're thinking you're looking a whole lot of empty. You're not. They tell you to look closely. I think you should actually back away from it a little. I saw it out of the corner of my eye as I walked past the table the directions were on. |

OK, just performed this for the first time...didn't really polish the presentation at all, just said "Here's a quarter, here's an empty bottle, BAM, now your quarter's in the bottle." I was just dying to see someone's reaction to the basic effect.
The person I performed it for was absolutely gobsmacked. It completely fried him. He asked to examine the bottle, of course, and I let him. I even let him keep it as a souvenier. This is just so much fun, and almost criminally easy to do. |

I'm not sure this question was answered. But is it the spec's actual quarter that ends in the bottle.

I'm not trying to be negative or put down the effect I want to know the limitations of the effect. So wouldn't you run into a problem then with the state quarters?

You might run into this problem only if someone asks you to "do it again" and you oblige. Then they might be more prone to wanting to examine all of the apparatus involved. But since no one knows what the heck you're going to do with the coin before it's been handed over, you're probably in the clear. If you get caught, however, the right thing to do is to commit ritual seppuku right there on the spot in order to preserve your honor. Seriously...it's in the magician's codebook, Page 673 Paragraph Q subpart IV. So keep your wakizashi sharp and ready to go. |

Hi johnlamberti,
Thank-you, I only asked because I know a few people who are insane about collecting the state quaters and everytime one hits there hands the first thing they do is look at the back to see what state it's from. I figured too I could always ask for a few quarters and pick the one with the right state if there is one and even draw attention to the fact. Well this will be on my next order from Hocus-Pocus. John, I completely agree with you. I remember asking for a quarter (to bend). After handing it back to them, they immediately gave me a special (not state, I'm in Canada) quarter and asked if I could do it again. they have no clue what you are going to do, so will hand you any old thing.
MagicMan1957, you said that the quarter that is borrowed isn't exactly the one that ends up in the bottle. What about the key and ring in bottle? It is very hard (read impossible) to switch the objects. Imagine someone wanting to get into their house after and noticing that the keys are completely different. OR, notice that their priceless wedding ring has suddenly changed to a 25 cent vending machine ring. I might hold on before purchasing this. *crosses fingers* |

I placed my order too. For the price I couldn't wait any longer. I've been looking for something good with a plastic water bottle. I'll post my comments after I get it.

I have placed the order yesterday with Hocus Pocus.
I have a faint idea as to how its done. I was sincerely hoping this would be the holy grail with a signed coin in the bottle. But as everybody else said, the price is good. I will post a review once I get my hands on this. -Harish

Most curious as to key in bottle/ring in bottle. I assume that you cant borrow a ring or key for this effect?

I did thish today and people went crazy. it was so enjoyable giving it to them and being like how do you like them apples. I didn't say that though. if you ever did coin in bottle routine before this is a breeze. You assume right rowdymagi5. the ring and key would be very fun and spur of moment looking trick though. Go to the da vinci code secrets page because there are a few vid demostrations to see and learn from if you getit. there s lots of ways to do the coin so do what ever is easy for you. Give it a try
