Hello..
I did some research on the Café and apparently this is a great book for mentalism for corporate functions... However, is it only suitable for corporate functions? Does it involve mainly predictions? cards? does it include moving objects? And most important of all, is it suitable for casual performances for a hobbyist?? thanks |

The routines in Mentalism, Incorporated are mostly useful for a platform, though not necessarily corporate, show. The effects include a magic square, drawing duplication, number transmission, book test, a postcard prediction that has some similarities to a card trick you probably know, and a triple prediction finale. Many of the effects require some preparation that make them unsuitable for impromptu performances.
Mentalism, Incorporated contains no PK or other movement effects. The effects are great, but the real value comes from learning Chuck's approach to setting up a corporate mentalism show and how you handle yourself around that type of audience. |

Forgetting the effects he describes, you will still learn so much about structure and presentation that it is a must for your library.

I did not finish reading the book, but I would think that this book is just 'okay'...not as great as what people say it to be.
It is a good read, but you probably will not use many tricks learnt from that book if you're just an amateur magician |

I had the pleasure of seeing Chuck perform in a small theater (platform). He did a number of effects listed in his book, very nice stuff. I haven’t picked it up yet, but it’s on my wants list.

This is not a book for beginners. You will need to have considerable flight time in order to present the material. There is a lot of audience management involved in his act and without the skill of handeling them it would be very easy to loose them.
My 2 cents. Ola
You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you are all the same...
