Anybody have a few tricks to quickly fold a blendo silk? Mine is a double sewn Rice silk. I can fold it inside easily and the next outside OK. The last outside fold is always a mess...4" at the top and 9" at the bottom. I've worked and worked and just can't seem to get the knack.

Any help? Thanks.

Steven

Steve,

I do not have one of those, largely because I played with them as a kid and had a similar problem. The concept of Blendo was excellent...the bugs with it I did not like.

Edwin Hooper, in one of his books, made some changes to the effect..fairly major, that make it much cleaner to use.

My wife Lucy learned from the Jeff McBride video and had no problem. Sometimes you just need to see it being done.

It's too good an effect to pass up!

Steven, Do you have a set of the directions to the Rice's Blendo? Let me know if you'd like them.

Peter White of P&A Silks has an excellent DVD out on Blendo Folding.

In addition to Rice directions which are very clear, I would add that it does work best having another person help you fold the blendo. That way you can keep folded straight and tight until you have the width cut down to the final width. Keep it tight and do the fold up and roll to finish it and you should have no problem.

If you are doing it alone, lay it on a table and use a book or other weight to help hold things flat and tight.

There is a blendo set on http://www.magicauction.com/Mag_auc/Silks.htm that works only by folding the silk and it is very easy to do.
