They are very good to learn sleights from, but his style isn't for everyone. You may find the tricks aren't as direct as you are used to. I love these videos.

After Bobos, and The Introduction to Coin Magic with Michael Ammar, I was introduced to David Stones Coin Magic volumes 1-2. The last routine on the set, Smileland, is worth the price of both videos in my humble opinion.....
Stones videos are both entertaining and informative once you're able to get over the fact that the vid is an english dub..... Beginning with the first effect, Stone teaches a sleight, followed by an original effect utilizing that sleight. The routines get more involved as the lessons in technique progress. Until, of course, your cumulative efforts throughout the series lead you to Smileland....... Please own them man....two words....Smile Land......lol

I totally agree with Eric; the Smile Land is a master piece of David Stone, and the DVDs are worth the price.
For chinese coins I suggest you check this web. side,http://www.themagicianscoin.com/pages/1/index.htm The coins are beautifull and you can get them with plenty of mill, that means the coins palm themself,LOL. yeah I'm serious. and the Owner is a very nice person. I highly recomended. also the jumbo coins are gorgeous. For other coins check Ebay, they have a bunch of deffent kinds of coins. Good luck on your serch. Peace out there. Mano. |

If you want good chinese coins, get Sterling coins from Dennymagic.com......they are $7.50 per coin.....
I know Denny also sells copper silvers.....

I hate to sound redundant, but Godhandz is on the money... no pun intended. The
only difference is that I loved Fire the most. A most impressive routine, as well as cocktail matrix. I have gotten great responses on that one. |

Cool, are both volumes good or does volume 2 contain better info?

They are both very good, I prefer vol. 2 more. I must add that David has just wonderfull hands and just watching him makes me want to practice. In addition his
routine fits you like a glove though I don't use this routine, I do use his production of the glove. However instead of the glove I produce a silk and go into Roths copper/silver routine. |

I began coin magic with his voliume one, but I didn't have to undergo the english overdub since I got it in french. It is great and very rewarding since there are some nice effects which only require one or two sleights. The technical progression is very nice, the first effects will smoothly lead you to the other ones.

I have just recieved the set from Hocus Pocus, and all I have to say is WOW!! These DVDs contain some pretty kick arse commercial routines. I am probably going to be using most (if not all) the routines. I love how all the routines (at least on volume 1, I havn't watched #2 yet) don't require you to have any gaffed coins. I will be watching the second DVD tonight. Sburke, volume 2 is suppose to be more difficult than volume 1. Highly recommended.

The David Stone dvds are very informative. His routines may seem simple once you learn it but they hit the spectator to the bone.
Nothing but praises from me to these dvd's. Guarded Hunt is a standup Miser's Dream perfect for walkaround situations with a kicker ending. I use it all the time.

I also bought the set last week and I'm very pleased with the buy. Volume two was better than I expected. However I think I might have a problem with trying to learn to classic palm 4 coins.

I personally think Stone is invaluble because it's a differnt style from what you would learn from Roth's set. Broadens your view a bit, what with so much misdirection. Aside from the four coin production, I don't think I use any routine in the videos, though I've taken the ideas from the, but they've taught me the moves when I was a begginer. I would say definetly get it, very useful, the stuff is amazing.
Neophyte.
