Has anyone here read this book? Very interesting, I read it in two days. I could not stop the first night, I was up till 3 in the morning. I only stopped because I wanted to save some for tomorrow night.
I think you could draw many bizarre presentations even effects from the ideas presented in this book. The weird thing is much of his ideas are things that have been floating around in my head for a while. Especially the 'psychic vampires' he mentions briefly. I experienced this myself while on a mushroom trip over a year ago; in fact I used the same term to explain to my friends what happened. I had planned a day in the park with this hippy Colombian girl Chaia from my Uni. We shared some Mushrooms, lit incense while she read her poetry and talked about crystals. But as the sun went down it got too cold, even though we wanted to stay in the park. So we went to a pub across the road where there was an open fire. After a couple of minutes in the pub this girl came up to me, "Magic Joe, do you remember me, you showed me magic in a club." I looked at her I remembered her name was Fay, she looked like a zombie. "I'm booooored show me some magic" "I have a hang-over, what are you doing." For some reason I just felt her sucking the happiness from me, the girl I was with didn't look happy. I thought to myself, if you have a hangover why are you in a pub at 5pm. I told her I didn't feel like doing magic right now, maybe she should go home, drink some juice and rest. Instead she sat at our table started talking, I couldn't understand what she was saying. The more she talked the worse I felt, then my friend Leyla saw me and came over. She does Tarot and straight away gave me hug and said "Let’s go outside". As soon as I went outside I felt released, Chaia said she felt better too. I won’t go in to what happened after that but some parts of this book mirrored things that have happened to me. Here is a link I suggest anyone into bizarre magic, read this book. |

Only that mistaking merely wearisome for a soul-stealing psychic vampire is a lot easier to do when you're gooned on shrooms.

Ah, but is it easier to mistake a psychic vampire for someone who is simply wearisome when NOT gooned on shrooms?

Bamba, it's possible to advocate for psychoactive substances without having to resort to John Lennon/Jerry Garcia reverse-engineered parablespeak.
(No, man, the psychoactive substances advocate for Bamba. And that parablespeak actually reverse-engineered Lennon and Garcia. And it's not that it's possible but that the possibility is it.) God, someone talk me down... |

Spook try actually reading my post. I said IDEAS, I never actually said Fay is a psychic vampire. I experienced that she was a psychic vampire, and in a sense she was. I was happy then she came along with her wearisome self, hoping to extract some magic from me to make her happy. Any other time I would probably say yes, but right then I experienced it from a distorted point of view.
Before you think I'm wacko, I also just finished reading 'Artificial Paradises' a more objective view on a similar subject. Crapping in my church? I don't have a church as such. I just posted a link to a book, that I found fascinating and thought may inspire some good presentations. As well a parallel experience of mine to the author's, to try and make the post more interesting. Spook do you actually know how psychoactive's such as psilocybin actually work? Thanks Hexagon I have heard of that before, just did a quick search and it is available free on the net. Have you read 'The Scientist' an autobiography of John Lily? Also 'Programming and metaprogramming in the Human Biocomputer' by John Lily. Interesting stuff... Here is a link--> http://www.prismagems.com/castaneda/ |

You must understand that nearly everything I have to say here on the board is horsecrap. If given a choice between making a salient point and making someone laugh I'll go for the gag every time.
I have a textbook at home called "Chemical Psychosis" that pretty much covers any hallucinogen in terms of its chemical reaction. So yeah, I have a fair understanding. As far as Lily, McKenna, Castaneda, Leary, etc...well...speculation can be just as intruiging as fact. I'm not a truth with a capital T kind of guy at all. Actually I was hoping you WERE a wacko. We're much more fun. |

Spook I agree with you speculation can be just as intruiging as fact. I find these guys interesting just seeing what their imagination bring to the table.
Anyway, maybe slightly off center, but no wako... Joe |

I think I am going to have to do some hands on research regarding this 'shrooms' issue- nothing like first hand experience... Just Say Know!

Now this is bizarre magic...freaky tales from shroom-ville. Yes, playing in traffic is a bad thing on drugs.
Once after partying with shrooms, I drove home stupidly. Odd thing was that it felt like I was able to predict things going to happen about 20 seconds before it actually did. Stoplights turning green for me, a car running a redlight that would have sideswiped me and even the cop that pulled me over in my vision whom I avoided by pulling off on a side street before he met me in oncoming traffic. |

Finally, some understanding minds. Go to ebay for inexpensive mushroom growing kits, and spore syringes can be bought online for as little as $10.00 each, and grow your own. The very best strain to grow is called "Golden Teacher" it was originally found growing in the lap of a giant seated buddah statue in the Cambodian jungle. A very ethereal strain. They are best dried, and steeped in a tea to eliminate upset stomaches. Anyone want more info, P.M. me, I would be happy to share 30 years of experience with the happy little entities.
My mom says I'm reprehensible, I think I'm perfectly hensible.
