Who are in the Top Ten....not as who's the best, rather who's the most popular? You can include those who actually claim REAL mental powers also.

Here is my top ten of the best mentalist/psychic entertainers out there.

1. Uri Geller
2. Derren Brown
3. Gerry Mccambridge
4. Banachek
5. Kreskin
6. Craig Karges
7. The Evasons
8. Marc Salem
9. Ted Karmilovich
10. Bob Cassidy

This is a hard list to make, there are so many great performers but in my opinion there are the top ten as of right now. Please feel free to disagree with me. Honorable mention is Tony McClaren, amazing mentalist, blow you away if you see him perform. One of the most original minds in magic/mentalism.

Most popular among other mentalists or lay people?
Thanks! Scott B.

The first 6 of you have given a list of truly some of the best. How about teams like Falkenstein & Willard?

What happened to the Falkensteins? I would have to rate them up there. Ross Johnson, maybe?

I don't want to number them, but in my top 3 there would be :
Luke Skywalker, Derren Brown and Richard Osterlind.
And for magicians, I'd go for Albus Dumbledore, Eugene Burger and Borodin
Perhaps there's something wrong with me, but I MEAN it... Smile

In UK, the most famous is definately Geller - known by young and old alike!
Then probably Brown - then Berglas, but that's pushing it.

You don't say living or dead...

Living: Geller
Kreskin
Derren Brown
David Blaine (yeah, I know, he does magic, but a lot of it is Mentalsim)
Tim connover
Banachek
David Berglas
Joel Bauer
Tony (Doc) Shiels
Satori

Dead: Dunninger
Kuda Bux
Alexander
Chan Canasta
The Fox sisters
Theo Annemann
Corrinda
Maurice Fogel
Robert Houdin
Washington Irving Bishop

Interesting to note that there are no females mentioned in anyone's list of present-day performers. I think a female mentalist of sufficient talent and charm would do extremely well in this day and age.

Richard Busch has just won the 2005 PEA Art of Mentalism Award to go with the 2002 Creativity Award. Only five other people have ever received both.

Philemon Vanderbeck - good point, although of course he doesn't bill himself as a mentalist or entertainer of that sort, neither does Geller - the guy in most people's top 10's.

Are the likes of Banachek, Annemann and Corinda actually famous amongst lay people? I think not.
