Check out the free effect. It involves the destruction of a card. The author used a Jerry's Nugget card. That's awesome.

Very nice page. Larry Jennings is a (big) piece of our magic history, and this web page is a must seen.
I specially love the photo section. There is a postcard from Dai Vernon to Larry in 1985. This is very curious, because in the text, Dai tells Larry about Rene Lavand, and is sent from Spain, so I supposed this postcard must be written by the Professor during the FISM 1985 in Madrid, where he gave the award to the Grand Prix of this convention, Javier Anton. All the best magic, Pablo Tejero PS Paul, the author of the photos and handling I suppose is Lee Asher, well known as Jerry Nugget´s card destroyer

This morning I received an email from Lee Asher re. Larry Jennings' website. I went to it right away and I was so greatful to be able to read his bio and viewed some of his pictures. They are priceless! Yeah, Hideo Kato and other well-known magicians and Larry went way back in the history of magic. Amazing... Excellent job, Lee in putting this together.

Wonderful site, and it's about time. Where else can you see footage like that, hear the man's voice, and even color his picture? (that's a hoot)
For anyone out there who does not have "Up in Smoke", do NOT miss it. "Gambler's Kings to Magician's Pockets" is a sleeping stunner, and has room for personalization in both the handling and the presentation, making it ideal working material for serious magicians of all types. Congratulations guys!

Yeah, I saw the site this morning, brilliant!
I read his biography, and I didn't know very much about Jennings before, just that he invented on eof my favorite tricks (The Visitor). After reading the biography, it feels like I knew the guy. http://www.larryjennings.com/images/vern......ored.jpg Hilarious!

By a stroke of good luck, I spent a couple of hours in a bar with Jennings a few decades back at the legendary "Wichita gathering" that later evolved into the "desert seminar". Jennings was in great form...showing me tons of wonderful unpublished stuff.
After an hour or so, Joe Stevens came by and said."Come downstairs...we are about to take a group photo for posterity". Jennings wanted to stay in the bar and I thought,"Would I rather spend another hour one-on-one with Larry Jennings or be in a posterity group photo with Dai Vernon, Mike Skinner, Paul Harris, Alan Ackerman, Roger Klaus, David Copperfield, Fawcett Ross, and many other legends?" I chose another hour with Larry Jennings. Best regards, Glenn Godsey |

I'm new to Mr. Jennings, saw him first on a L&L DVD. Then I read his biography and see that he is one of the L's. He performed and explained Impossible, a simple yet when done right, quite impossible for the layman to explain. Really like the site. Makes me wish that even more had been recorded. Looking forward to Up in Smoke. I like Larry's style.

The biography was great, I especially loved the the bit about the poker games were cheating was allowed. It was also a testament to my ignorance, I didn't know that Jennings had been one of the founders of L&L.
Love the Vernon, Jennings, Marlo photo. I hope to see additional photos and info posted in the future. Great site. |
