I am looking to add to my card magic repertoire for walk around situations.
Right now I mainly perform Chicago Opener, card to wallet, Ambitious card with omni deck climax, and cards to pocket. I want to improve my skills with cards and add to my repertoire. Can anyone recommend some good card books? Something with real world material. I prefer effects with a full deck and with no or very little set up. Thanks Simon

Most of the material in the Michael Close Workers books don't contain material similar to what the INITIAL POSTER REQUESTED. Much of the material published in the Workers series tends to require more than a deck of cards. This is not a critisicm of the material, which I am a fan of. However, there is material by Close that uses just a deck of cards (and sometimes one other small thing), most notably his Cards Across routine, his Card on the forehead/under the salt shaker routine, and his work on the memorized deck (some of which is in Closely Guarded Secrets).
In response to the Garcia books question, Million Dollar Card Secrets, Super Subtle Card Miracles, Exclusive Card Miracles, Exclusive Card Secrets all contain material similar to what you are requesting. |

If you don't already own "From a Shuffle Deck in Use..." and "FASDIU II", you should order them immediately. Both are available directly from Paul Cummins at http://www.fasdiu.com
I've said a number of times that if you learned nothing but the material in these books, you'd have as complete and diverse a repertoire as any professional could ever need.

If you want to improve your general card skills, buy the Card College series, as it contains a healthy dose of moves, tricks, and theory. Most of the tricks in the series require just a pack of cards.
