Everybody always talks about their favorite opener. How about everyone's favorite closer.
I'll start.... The last time I performed I did Simon Lovell's Packed Wallet.

Depends on the venue and the situation:
Card to Ceiling In-Tin-Tin (my coin to nest of boxes routine) Virtually any effect with a giveaway Ambitious Card with 51 to pocket or Mystery Box finish.

Favourite closer is Osmosis, the linking card routine from Paul Harris Art of Astonishment book 2. Two nice cardboard rings to hand out at the end. Anyone else do this routine?

Why is your closer a closer? What makes it a finale? If it has a businaess card giveaway, then this can signal it as a last routine. With so many strong effects out there, why do magicians choose the closers they have?
Is it down to the magician to state, "For my last effect...." or should a closer be obvious. In most movies, you know when the final scene is about to happen (it's just the hero and villain left in the building etc.), but when the credits role unexpectedly, you think, "Woah!" and I wonder if this is the same with magic routines.

The Linking card is on harry Lorrayne's Stars of Magic video from Tannens.
My closer tends to be Ambitious card, to Card to Wallet (Mullica) or Torn and Restored Card (7 Secrets). I'm not "Cardy" but these are good closers I think. Big impact and a giveaway at the end. Cheers Andy

Harry Lorrayne's linking card is also on his lecture video available from International magic in London.
Osmosis beats it hands down though, in fact it incorporates a similar move to H/Ls but has a much longer routine - it also uses two cards but leaves you with two intact cardboard circles at the end. I guarantee you'll be watching people playing with the cards at the end with a ? look on their faces. Superb! Paul Harris Art of Astonishment book 2 |

Kennedy's Mystery Box is perfect in every way. You do an apparent impossibility (miracle?) and you leave a speechless spectator with a strong souvenir of your performance. What else?

I love doing a bill to an impossible location. In restaurants I usually get to keep the bill (Thats why I ask for 5's and 10's) Also, depending on the setting giving back the person's watch after a watch steal along with my business card plays well.

My favorite Closer trick would be Jay Sankey's Paper-clipped. Very powerful and they get to keep something at the end of the trick. This is the kind of trick where you should get a standing ovation. That's the kind of trick that should be done as a closer.

I'll agree with PAPPERCLIPED. Great way to end a card set.
