I'm looking for a nice duet--lyrical and/or torch song style--for my
half man/half woman to sing, but I'm drawing a blank.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

"I got you babe?"

There has to be a song with "I'm only half a man with out you" in the lyrics. That would be funny.

Check out the old Bing Crosby/Bob Hope Road pictures. Lots of material there.

Well my first thoughts were:
Don't go breaking my heart (Kiki Dee/Elton John)

but..

Engelbert Humperdinck's DEEP IN MY HEART
has "you know I'm only half a man without you" in it and opens with the line "now I'm lying here and wishin' you're beside me".

Although the band Prism (never heard of them) has a song (I'm only) HALF A MAN, which repeats the title in the chorus.

"Yesterday" (Paul McCartney)

"...suddenly...I'm not half the man I used to be..."

On a slight tangent, a local nightclub comic, Kevin Orr, used to do a sick-joke mini-parody of "Yesterday":

"Leprosy...
"All my flesh is falling off of me...
"Now I'm half the man I used to be...
"Yes, I believe it's le-pro-sy..."

How about "Stand by your man" ??

It gave me the giggles. Either that or it's the wine.

THANK YOU to everyone who responded to my post asking for song suggestions. What a great resource this you all are! You came up with a truly amazing array of music.

Which one did we pick? Still don't know for sure, but while I was researching some of the suggestions, I came across "If I Didn't Have You" from Monsters Inc.--it might fit our theme nicely.

Again, thanks for all the help!

Nobody mentioned "How Could You Believe Me When I Said I Loved You, When You Know I've Been A Liar All My Life!"
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

If you want a really pretty song, try "Indian Love Call" from Rosemarie.
