Hello everyone:
Lately, I've been interested in effects requiring equivoque. Can anyone recommend a few sources that detail this principle? I've heard good things about "E'Voque" by Docc Hilford. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance. -Anthony |

The Mind and Magic of David Berglas has a wonderful section on equivoque, including some touches I haven't seen anywhere else.

Thank you, Scott and...Scott. I'll look into those references. Scott B.: do you know where I can find "Verbal Control"?

I'm with scott on Verbal Control, Goldstein/Maven covers all the bases. The knowledge therein is definitely a prized possession.
Picked up my copy on ebay from a fella who's got some very interesting auctions up from time to time. if you can't find an auction though, check this thread out. http://themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic......60&6 peace.
The thing about doing the impossible is that you've got no competition.

I believe Maven himself still sells Verbal Control directly. I think he mentioned that when he was the guest of honor recently, so you might want to do a search in those threads. It's pretty easy to find in the better online magic bookshops though. And it's only five bucks, which is a steal.

Jack Deans "Equivoque choice" is a wonderful compilation of Equivoque theories and applications...in my opinion its your "one stop shop" for the principles of Equivoque...the rest is up to you...

Don't get Verbal Control on eBay, unless you like inflated prices. I believe H&R Magic still carries it for five bucks, at the link below. For my money, though, E'voque is the way to go --fantastic. It's evidently a simpler version of the Berglas method, which I don't have.

I can't vouche for the contents (since I haven't purchased these items) but David Eldridge has a book and companion video out called Maximum Mind Control (I think the video is just Mind Control). I know these are available from Brad Burt.

Thanks Stevie and Seth ,
I probably will use these if I cant find them UK side (or secondhand ). Its just the $9 post on Max's $5 bargain seems less aesthetically pleasing !! I know it is still worth it ! Anyone here have the whole Equivoque library for sale ?!!!!! You could sell it or alternatively let me buy it off you. If there is one you most prefer to let me have that would be the most pleasing for you to share now , wouldn't it? |

The David Eldridge "Mind Control" book and video are excellent! I bought both and am very happy with it. Equivoque is a powerful technique! It's often downplayed because few have studied how to use it correctly.

For the money, Jack Dean's "The Equivoque Choice" really is the most complete treatise of the subject and even includes the correct handling for Vernon's 5 card mental force.

I'm surprised that no one suggested the following link
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=127 By re-reading this thread several times, I've learned as much on equivoque as by reading Phil Goldstein's booklet. Sincerely, Matt

This is indeed very good. The only moment I felt something weird was going on was when he was supposed to call out the dates backwards... But then again, it was late then...
Splendid thread, thanks ! |
