Without a doubt what is the best and most professional equipment to use for "Coin in Coke Bottle".

What coin, what bottle, what venue?
Getting a borrowed quarter into the bottle of water in a water cooler can be VERY impressive.

Oh Joanthan you know perfectly well what I mean - I do state "Coke Bottle" and I think that you will agree that the usual coin in a half-dollar.
I'll send you a pm wherein I can be more explicit. Dick Vinny, Thanks. I like the idea of a green bottle except that I perform at The Texas Children's Hospital and Shiriner's Children Hospital here in Houston so I wonder about the appropriateness of using a beer bottle. I use the Coke bottle because it was originally presented to me about 40 years ago, the brand Coca-Cola is famous and the bottle is ribbed furthering the effect. Dick

I am sure you can find a brown or green soda pop bottle . it helps to have a label on the bottle ,this way you can hide the origional coin, and then reproduce it .

Apparently the rumor started in 89. It was easier for some to go ahead and publish, then sell a trick of mine after the rumor was started that I had passed on. It gives a sort of "look what was saved from oblivion" patina to the products.
I would be less insulted about the rumor if my family had received even one card (none) and had those who published the trick at least mentioned that I had passed on and they were publishing the trick as a memorial. Such would have shown some respect and class. Instead we have... well you can see what we have. Good thing I like magic more than any ego investments in the tricks or the community. Other than those involved in that rumor, I can say from experience that MOST in this community are good about secrets and respecting the wishes of inventors. Don't let a few rotten apples spoil your enjoyment of the orchard. Back to the bottle, you can get a ^ quarter or half dollar in regular currency pretty cheaply. Remember, folks are looking at the "coin in the bottle" not at the "coin" that is in the bottle.

Billy McComb featured the classic coin in bottle on stage at the London Palladium. He brags about it. I wonder, do any of you know anyone that was in the audience? If so, ask them if they knew what the hell he was doing!

I use a laser cut folding quarter and a clear glass bottle. No more seam worries.

Reminds me: My dad was in vodvil, he played the Palace in NY and sang WITHOUT a microphone (they didn't have them in those days) and at the end of his act, the audience STOOD and SHOUTED... "WE COULDN'T HEAR YOU."

Why green. I just saw Johnny Thompson handiling on L&L 25 best magic effects I was curious if he usedthe original handiling with the F]coin. Also what or where can I learn his vanish of the O coin? It came with this months Geni magazine.

Michael Ammar has a nice extra if you want to use a wine bottle, it's probably on his site.

See I always have my F}coin I don't always carry Abyss So if a bottle appears or I'm at a bar I want to be able to do it and the first part is all great and easy its the clean up afterwards that I have and issue with I can neverget it out swiftly.

If you like the idea of the green bottle, would a Perrier bottle work? I think I've seen this before somewhere and you won't have to worry about the inappropriateness in a Children's Hospital. Especially if you use the labels for any reason.

John Carney's routine uses a Perrier bottle. It is perhaps the best handling of the effect for close up.
Ammar's routine is excellent as well but requires a topit. |

Kevin James' "Perrier with a Twist" is incredible... he gets the coin in and to get it out has to break off the bottom of the bottle... then does an instant restoration. Check out his website and BUY THIS.

Lonnie Chevrie has a great routine on his DVD, I've used it for years. It does away with the shaking it out phase in a funny way.
