Hi guys..

I was always really sceptical about performing magic for family (i.e cousins etc)
tonight I figured what the hell..and they were BLOWN AWAY. their perception of me changed completely..They were telling e I should do this proffessionally and I'm so cool..they want me to come out with their friends etc..

Basically I'm the new talent of the fmaily..aint magic swell?

I'm glad you did good for family.
They can be a very difficult audience but, keep in mind, they can also be 'over complimentary'.
The idea of doing you stuff for their friends is a good, next step.
After that try your gig for some strangers, friends of friends and do a free show at a retirement home, hospital, etc.
Until then I wouldn't make any decisions to go pro.

Magic is swell.

I can perform for strangers very easily, but when it comes to family, I absolutely refuse. One reason is because of the extreme hecklers my family has to offer, and it is just rude to shoot a heckler line at one of your own family members! Another reason is the constant nagging at reunions and gatherings. You do a show, and then try to eat, but you can't for everyone wanting you to do another trick...but "No, I would like to eat right now." is an unnacceptable answer in most cases.

There are a few family members I will perform for, but I choose to not for most of them! They see videos of my performances and are allowed to attend performances in public, but no "strictly family" shows.

But anyways...Great job on your performances!

Ya I've been performing for quiet a while now. I just never wanted to perform for family- not sure how to deal with the reactions etc. They were awed that someone in their family had "talent"

family can be the toughest crowd to crack
