This looks REALLY really good, and I'm quite tempted to hand over a pile of cash and buy this immediately. Any thoughts reviews? Does anyone have any info on this at all other than what is posted in the ad?
BTW it's at Hocus-Pocus.com and there's a video. GO WATCH IT. |

I just ordered it. I emailed Hocus to see if it could be done with a different ending each time. Paul wrote back the following speedy response: "the outcome is different every time"
With that in mind, I placed my order. I just wish the series of word cards were bigger. Not sure people in a larger stand-up show will be able to read everything. I think cards twice that size would have been better. |

Does it say what size the cards will be?
I know that the one Jon uses is his own hand made version, he might have had them made commercially? Might be worth getting in touch with him to find out. In Magic Steve Dela |

The presentational cards are now commercially made and measure 8" X 4.5" and are perfect for close-up and parlor settings.

I guess I should chip in on this one.
I am currently getting the DVD instructions finished next week and then I will be packaging them up and shipping them of to MMS for distribution. It should be available in around 3 weeks. The boards were designed with various subtleties dictating different aspects which you may or may not be aware of even when you buy it! However, I wanted the boards to be small enough to fit inside 99% of jacket pockets. The boards themselves are laminated and the front and back covers are plastic to help protect the boards. It is all made of top quality material. Nobody on here can review this yet because it is not commercially available. I have sold a few pre-orders at lectures here in the UK to see what the reaction is to it. I will send one to Steve Brooks who will hopefully revew it for Café members. Emyers99 asked if it can be repeated with a different card and the answer is "Yes". You can do this strolling, at a table, in a formal show or informally with friends. Yo do not have to do it as an opener but some thought needs to go into the set-up. As for viewing the boards, you will be surprised at how large an audience it will play for. At FFFF, I was doing it for around 200 people and everyone could see them. If you have a gig at Carnegie Hall, you may want to do something else but overall you can play this to pretty big groups or just one on one if you want. I am currently setting up a website with the video and buying options on it. I will let people on here know the website when it's up and running. There will also be the chance in future to buy versions in foreign languages like French, spanish and maybe even Japanese. You can perform TST for peopel in their own language without having to learn it yourself! I am VERY excited about this one.... even more so than I was about Double Back. I would appreciate one thing from people on here. For as long as possible *PLEASE* do not give away the finale. If someone knows the ending before seeing the video, the impact is totally ruined. The Silent Treatment has a unique premise amongst commercial tricks and I think everyone who watches the video gets a real buzz from seeing the finale and you will hopefully understand why it is best to watch it without knowing what will happen. *PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE* keep it a secret. If you want to see the video, please go to the Hocus Pocus website where it is on show. If you have any questions about TST then I will be happy to answer them for you. I will not answer questions on method but everything else is fine. Thanks for your support... it will be repaid really soon Jon

Hi Ernest,
I have had them translated in French but not yet manufactured. Do you know of any French distributors or retailers that would be interested in a French version? Jon

What a great effect. It dawned to me what the finale might be when he started the last few pages leading to the climax. Great job!
PS: Jon, are you going to the next FISM?

Hi Niva,
I change the pace and attitude on those last few pages. That's when everything people assume might happen suddenly gets thrown for a loop. I love that feeling! As for FISM, there is a slim chance I will be going. I have a few things to work out before knowing for sure.

I really enjoyed the routine on the video but couldn't see clearly what choice the spectator had when presented with that card. Anyone able to help?

The effect and routine are good and certainly different. However, I also had difficulty seeing on the demo video what was presented to the spectator for him to make his selection from. But is does appear to be a very entertaining routine.

If you want to know what the person saw, take a close look at the board with the "Ring around their card". It is the same picture but shrunk down in size. As has been mentioned before, the card is not always the same and in fact you could do it ten times in a row and have different cards each time.
There is absolutely no way the person will think you made him/her choose a particular card because you don't! Thanks for the kind words Larry. I do think it is a unique premise amongst the tricks that are out there on the market.

I really enjoyed your lecture at last FISM. I liked that bill switch effects where words keep appearing while folding the card and unfolding it.
I wish you luck with this effect. You deserve it, because as Larry said it's unique. I will end up geting it too. If done as an opener, it's great to relieve some of the tension.
