I am wanting to do a vanish at the end of a Spirit cabinet routine of an assistant.A magician friend suggested Sphinx table(there would have to be two-maybe one ungimmicked-to lessen the obvious)what are your thoughts and can anyone post a link ot where I can see/buy one? Thanks.

The Sphinx table is very old. Check out Hoffmann's Modern Magic and Steinmeyer's Hiding the Elephant. Both books should be available from any book store and are both inexpensive. The Hoffmann book will give you the basics and the Steinmeyer book will elaborate on some of the things that Hoffmann doesn't cover. You may want to experiment with some black art, too. It is easier to use and very deceptive in the right circumstances.

Thanks,
Richard

Go to the Owens' Magic site and take a look at their Girl from Pumpkin illusion.

This is a good "all purpose" use of a Sphinx Table. Osborne has also put some ideas in print on this also.
