A little more info would be nice. How big is the dog, can it be in dark spaces, will you have a place backstage to take it out, where will you be performing this, etc.?

Okay. It's a miniature schnauzer. She can be in a dark place for a little while, but that won't be an issue, and yes she'll be able to get out un-seen.

Try checking out some of the many props used to make a rabbit vanish. There are several on the market that may work for you.

A random search turned up something like this as a first result.

Also, there are several illusion designers, myself included, here on the Café if you are looking to have something designed custom for your needs.

Best of luck!

Chris.

I do have an apearing dog built by Don Hanko. What you do is you assemble a little house right in front of the audience so they know its empty, then you put a toy hot dog in and crank it up.(not part of the trick, its just to convince)And when you say the magic words you can pull a dog right out of the roof!!

One of my customers used Jim Gerrish's Magic House of Mystery plans to make a Dog House production prop for his small dog. It's in Jim's Hardboard and Duct Tape Book 2 on my site.
