Dear Fans of Harry--

Please read this article from NOLA, it tells of Harry's struggle to open OSWALDS.

http://www.nola.com/rose/t-p/index.ssf?/......5290.xml

It is open now. Anyone in New Orleans--tickets are a measly $20! Go see him and his wise guy act!

I heard a rumor that HA stole his act from a performer in England.

When did you hear that? What part of the act? (Harry has a lot of different things) And who is the guy he supposedly stole it from?

Unless you consider the "Elephant Man" part of the act...but that would be quite a stretch.

"Nothing pi***es me off quicker than guys saying, I own this bit, I own that trick. Thinknig that the goal is the trick is so short sighted. It's YOU that you're selling , not what you are doing. When I was starting out, I never hestitated to adopt anything I thought was appropriate for my character__but I tried as much as possible to personalize it. The thing is, let's do the right thing....I've been threatened and cajoled and everything for not respecting ownership, but I really don't. This is not that kind of business. This is a business about magical characters and nobody can take your magical character, and whether you did the double dove first or somebody else did it first, it's really not worth much of a conversation." (Harry Anderson from GENII July 2005 quote)

Folks,

I've often heard it said that, at $35, there is no better bargain in magic than seeing Mac King in Las Vegas. Well, try Harry Anderson in New Orleans for $25. His show gives the most bang for your buck that I know of. My wife (not a huge magic fan) said it was the funniest single act she'd ever seen.

Then, you can hang out and chat and drink with HA at the bar afterwards, if you like. He's a most welcoming fellow.

Go see it if you're down south.

This is serious rumor territory...second...third...twenty-fifth hand, but I heard that Michael Close was at a magic event in England where he saw a performer do HA's act. Close was next and being the ethical fellow he is mentioned that in the US it is considered unethical to take someone's act so.... After his lecture he was told this fellow in England has had this for decades and HA took the act from him.

Now, I have not seen HA (other than a quick one trick on TV) nor did I hear a name for the other performer in Great Britian. But it sounds plausible...especially, in light of the quote above.

Just off the phone with Harry Andeson's pal, Mike Caveney... NO WORD. Mike left a message but figures Harry left town as ordered... but is fearful that all his "stuff" may be damaged or gone. But maybe not.

Please if anyone hears anything on Harry and where they are---let us all know. I've got hundreds of e-mails. People care and want to know.

Who cares about the stuff, life is way more important.

Ok,
From Harry's friend Jay...
"Harry and Elizabeth stayed in New Orleans until this morning. (8/31) They
weathered the storm and the aftermath pretty well with no significant
damage to the club or the shop. When his friend, a fireman, was told
to evacuate the city, Harry decided it was time to go. He is fine. He
will have great routines and stories from this adventure I am sure."

Thank god!
