Hi, I am not to much of a stage man, but I mas wonder ing if it would be ok to do floating person somewhere other the stage(like living room performances) I could do Floating Person effect or Saw a Person in Half effect. If so that's great. Also, where can you buy atleast one of these effects(if you can buy both at the same place that's great!), for really cheap.

I suggest you take a look at the floating carpet illusion. It works great for these settings, it's not TOO expensive, and when well done, looks great.

A quick search on google should give you lot of hits.

Chris.

If you want a sawing illusion, try visual sawing. It's very affordable and can be done surrounded. Not quite on the same grand scale as a stage sized sawing illusion, but for the price, it's pretty good.

Do you guys know any places where I can get the original Sawing a Lady in Half with a hand saw or floppy metal pieces that cut the people?

Once in the subject... Do you guys know where can I get plans from clear sawing? Like the ones performed by the Pendragons?

Jazz I believe this illusion was customed designed for the Pendragons. I don't think there are any public plans for this (although don't hold me to that!).

Your best bet would be to have a professional designer draw something up to fit your particular needs.

There are no public plans but it is sold through Bill Smith Magic Ventures.

Oh by the way it is 11 grand if you are interested. That might turn some faces.

Hope that helps.

I am finding lots on eBay! Sawing in half, Impailed,Thru and Thru, Modern Art, Crystal Casket, Flying Carpet... Just go to ebay and search for "stage illusion" or the trick you're looking for to purchase. I have just discovered all the magic on eBay today and it seems like a great way to save!

Just be careful, many of the effects and plans on eBay are knock-offs. I don't mean to start [another] ethics debate here, I am just saying, "Be careful." Just remember "Caveat Magus," let the magician beware. And please, for all the Latin scholars out there, yes I realize that I probably didn't decline that properly. So please no angry PM's.
