Can I ask if anyone here has a clip of themselves performing which they can let potential clients view on the web?
I hear some folks saying it's absolutely the way to get work in the future. Any comments? Sean |

He looks like the guy who does an advert on UK TV. If it's the same one he dresses as a 'karate sensei' and breaks wind when his finger get's pulled. Is it him?
Anyway, it was very professional. I liked him and could see how such a clip would get further bookings. I made a promo film for a TV show here in the UK but alas it never did get commissioned. It was to be for a show called 'Hit & Run' and strangely enough a show by that name did get commissioned a few months later. I call it coincidence to stop myself from slashing my wrists. My clip is somewhere on the net but I can't think of the 'addy' right now. Tell you what, if I get enough requests from Café members I'll go look it up. C'mon you guys... plead with me!!!!!!!!! Yours aye, Bobser (I'm very good y'know)

I like the idea this fellow has of saying that he uses "Magic, suggestion, psychology, NLP and showmanship". That is an interesting way of explaining the sort of act. Good show.

Well that line was used by Derren Brown on his tv specials and probably it was not original to him either. Banachek and others have been discussing about these disclamers before. You would be well adviced to read both Mr. Brown's and Mr. Banachek's books.

His name seems to be Matthew Stirling, it's a very nice clip.
I'm not sure about 'Magic, suggestion, psychology, nlp, misdirection and showmanship', not very 'snappy' - I think Derren Brown says 'Magic, misdirection, psychology and showmanship' , has an almost hypnotic ring don't you think, note the way the first and last two words aliterate. *edit* oh my, this guy is a professional stunt man too - http://stirlingstunts.co.uk/ I bet he doesn't get stage fright... |

Hi everyone, here is a clip of me performing Richard Osterlind's ODDS with some comedy sprinkled in. This thread inspired me to put this clip on the web, but you all are the only ones who will know about it, so if you have any feedback (I know there is room for improvement - I only had a few days to come up with this routine) please let me know. Hopefully you will find it entertaining, or maybe you might see something you want to use for your own act.
Have a magical day/night! Kaylan http://homepage.mac.com/koskis2005/iMovieTheater1.html kaylankoski@hotmail.com |

I thought Kaylan's clip was very funny, and he has a bright future.
However Bobser is obviously completely at ease with just about anyone and gives the impression he is so experienced he can handle just about any given situation(and very well). I'd love to see him get the break to show his unique style. |

I Kaylan.
First of all I loved the routine-Very funny and you also have a funny charachter(Not like Max Maven). The part with the antena was very nice-The part with the dish needs something more. Maybe you take the dish after show it around and with a strage look dump it . You also want to consider the chosen word to be in a preshow manner-much more impressive. Beside that(It's only my opinion)-GREAT routine Have fun Roi |

Bobser - THANK YOU for your kind words, I also enjoyed watching your clip!
Roi, THANK YOU for your kind words as well, I appreciate it! I also value your feedback. It's funny, because the first time (I performed the same act for two different audiences in one day - for FREE by the way) I did the dish gag, they laughed a lot, but the second time they did not, and I got sarcastic groans. My intention was to have it be a quick laugh and move on. Regarding the word being better off chosen in preshow - YES I agree - but the problem was I did this at my job site and I was too busy working, secondly - I had no idea who would be attending. Next time, I will do preshow though, you're right that it would play better. Thanks again for your feedback.... Kaylan PS...where are everyone else's clips??? Don't be shy folks! |

Keep your chin up, Bobser This is doing my head in! I've posted off to those who Pm'd me 'my wee clip'. And thamkyou for coming back to me and saying nise things. you're all very welcome. But to save my fingers here is where anyone else can find it: bobburns.somarvilleharmes.com For your information it was done a few years ago with the concept of a TV show entitled 'The Hit & Run Show' but in all fairness we felt that it really wasn't good enough and didn't even bother to apply for commissioning. As you can see all I hade was 'wiregram' at around £10 which really isn't a big enough budget to film a promo, especially when you're going to ask for a seven figure sum from a stranger! The point is that it's great fun and good experience to get a couple friends and get out there, hit the streets and have fun. Bobser
