Someone had the brainchild of holding the world's ugliest dog contest.
One of my friends sent me mail to go check this site out. I have to admit I rather like those scruffy type dogs who other people usually call ugly. I call them cute. I did change my mind when I viewed this photo..this is an ugly dog. On the other hand..he probably has a great little personality! http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/uglydog.asp Chrystal |

That is horrendous!
Yes, definitely an ugly dog. Looks a bit too evil to have a redeemable personality!! Your dog seems a little cuter than that, Chrystal. Simon |

That's what my dog looked like when I took him out of the micowave oven (not good for quick drying their hair).

I'm afraid age is beginning to take its toll on this poor chap, Chrystal. I've seen others of his breed that look quite charming. He's still charming, but in a different way. And I'm SURE he's got a great personality. That comes through in the photo, I'd say. I have a lot of respect for old dogs. Interesting topic.

Thaat dog is so ugly you can't even shave his rear end and teach him to walk backwards to help his looks. (From an old joke.)

Hi Again,
Thanks SJDavidson for the comment regarding my dog, but you should have seen her when I first viewed her at the Humane Society years ago..a dirty matted mess! I saw past that. Same with the majority of the others I've adopted.I think usually the scruffy unkept look gives them character. Have to admit however, that particular dog in that photo at the Scopes site, is one that I would say I'm not sure about. Never thought I'd ever admit that about a dog. Ha Ha! Sounds like his upright has a good sense of humor about it! I've fallen in love with one of those scruffy, nature gone wrong types, of dogs at the Humane Society in my area recently. He's an aged old dog that nobody seems to want..Old English Sheepdog crossed with ? so he's the size of a Cocker spaniel..giving him the appearance that someone played a trick of nature with him. Makes you wonder ..where's the rest of his legs? Anyhow I'm rambling. Oh what to do? I already have three dogs...still..... Here's a site for those of you that are dog lovers in case you're considering adoption. http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/AL90.html Please note Scruffy has recieved his death notice unless someone adopts him within the next day or so. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on pets at this shelter. Chrystal |

Egads!
That dog looked like he fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down! That dog looked uglier than Freddy Kruger sucking a lemon! I've seen roadkill that looked better! Too bad about his health, 'though. It looks like he may retire undefeated.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |
