Can someone help me with building one of these?
I am on a drive to make Egyptian themed effects at the moment (Just finished a Mystic/wandering Mummy. I've been trying to buy one of these but they are scarce so I must admit I haven't even seen one in action. I can build the props and have an idea of the method but would appreciate any help. PM me. Thanks, Simon |

Slightly off subject, but I once played with the idea of bringing an Egyptian scarab to life. To be brief: a metal scarab shell, a live beatle (bug not singer) and a raven (gimmick not bird)
I tried it out years ago and it was very creepy. You place the scarab on the back of your hand, pass your other hand over it and the beetle scurries away. Thanks, Richard |

Thanks to both of you. I've been sucked into the Egyptian magic genre. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
I have Sheherezade and Capricornian Tales already. Both awsome books by the way! Simon |

The Wizards' Journal #3 has an article on a "Mummified Scarab" Illusion that is loosely based on Fu Manchu's (David Bamberg) Isis Illusion, but with an Egyption Ouiji board theme and simplified transportable materials.
The Wizards' Journal #4 has an article on The Monkey's Paw, using a mummified paw of a monkey, but which easily could be a mummified human hand with a little adaptation. In The Wizards' Journal #5, the Madame Zelda Illusion is based on a mechanical "gypsy" which, of course, is a variant of the word Egyptian and a little work would turn it into a museum type case appearing to hold a bust of King Tut that comes to life, etc.

Thanks Spellbinder, is the Wizards Journal still available? Sounds like I should get my hands on it. I've looked through all the issues of Invocation and surprisingly there are very few routines.

Spellbinder...where to see the Wizard's Journal #4? Would like to see the Monkey's Paw article. I just put new photos of a new stage size M. Paw on the site (next to the Mummified hand)...would be real interested in what can be done with these.
Thanks Doug

Here is the link to "The Wizards' Journal", I haven't checked any of the issues out yet. I would really like to know what anybody who has seen an issue has to say about it.

I too would love to create a Hand of Cleopatra. I was lucky to be sat right next to one at a mgic circle meeting last year as a friend of mine had finally tracked it down after almost 13 years of searching for one. Any more info would be great, thanks

I completed mine a couple of weeks ago. Its not the same but I do think its as effective. Mine is an animal claw with a big ring on one of the talons. It sits on top of a small velvet stand. The stand goes on top of a wooden pentagram paten.
The claw turns when it is covered to point at a selected crystal. If you need more info PM me. Simon |

I was by Michaels Craft Store yesterday and they had a three foot tall mummy,
looks good , You could make it into a mummy ashra very easy, They told me a few days before haloween everything goes on sale half price.Just don't , if you make the Mummy Ashra , when it vanishes say " I want my mummy "......Mike |
