Any suggestions for the best way to mount a mirror (large) onto a sheet of plywood for moving and hanging?

Hiya, Cliff:

Avoid silicone or other adhesives, which WILL react with the 'silvering' on the mirror back. Instead, get over to your nearest glazier or glazing supply house and purchase "mirror mount adhesive," which is formulated to NOT react with whatever shiny substance is filmed on mirror backs these days.

You might also want to check into the new glassless mirror film from Rose Brand. It's a thin film that stretches over lightweight frames. It's reflective quality is as good as that of glass mirrors. With frame, a 4'x8'made of this is only 12lbs! Anybody that's ever tried to lift a 4'x8' mirror of another substance knows how heavy they usually are. They also come in a scrim mirror style for gradual bleeding of whatever you're looking at.
