However, while the marks can be read whether spread left or right handed, if a leftie spreads the printed version, all the marks will be upside down as will the suit positions. A 6 would read as a 9. While it would be possible to learn to read numbers upside down, the beauty of Boris's markings is the speed with which you can pick out any card. For those that can't work with the right handed version, I heartily recommend you take the time to make up your own as it is the best marked deck on the market.

You'll defintely want to get the book and companion DVD that go with this system if possible. There is some great material and it explains the stack.

Boris also has a marked deck DVD.
It contains: "This companion video to the "Complete Boris Wild Marked Deck Book" contains live performances of ten of the strongest items from the book. You will enjoy the incredible effects possible with the Marked Deck and the more involved routines combining it with Boris' Instant Memorized Deck" As far as who has the best system, here's what some pro's say: _________________________________________________________________________ The finest new advance on Marked Decks in years." - Marc DeSouza "I know of no stronger tool than the Boris Wild Marked Deck." - Gary Ouellet "Boris performs absolute miracles with his special deck of readers." - Dary

When it becomes well known that US Card comp can deliver marked bicycle cards, I guess a lot of card tricks will be ruined. Or may be not?

I find it hard to believe they did this... I bet a lot of low grade card hustlers are waiting with baited suckers... and THEN... when the losers find out USPC sold 'em marked cards, will SUE the USPC.

I have to say, the nice thing about using a marked deck is that very few people have them, mostly because they are such a pain in the buttocks to make. It's almost synonymous with a memorized deck. This is a double edged sword here - it will be nice to have a "factory printed" marked deck, but now everyone will have one. These have to be kept secret - I really hope I don't see these for sale at the magic boutiques next to the D'lites . . .

I agree with Boris ; don't do tricks that imply you knew what the card was from a look.People already know about marked cards .
Its like a peek so don't do a trick that directly suggests a peek. It has to be part of a different effect. Its worth getting the video/book too, for some lovely effects. |

I find that mpost people think the cards are marked or is a trick deck ( Svengali, etc. ). A pro can make a gaffed deck look normal, etc. I wouldn't get worried that the public will get wind of marked decks as they already know about them.

This looks promising. I saw them at Hank's and have my heart set on getting a pack.

I picked my decks up last night and all I can say is "yippie". No more messing with rub ons. Not everyone carrys the 10pt transfer sheets needed to mark the cards and these have been difficult to obtain. These decks are amazing. They were selling like "hotcakes" at the magic shop. You won't be disappointed with them.

Bob Coluzzi at Total Discount Magic just emailed me (I have no idea how I got on his email list) and is offering the decks for $15.50 + 2.95 S/H for a total of $18.45.
He says pay him through PayPal, his ID is dekram1@ameritech.net. That's all the info I have...you'll probably want to specify red or blue, though he doesn't mention it. Doug |

Got it today. Convenient, but I'm finding myself really having to scrutinize the card to see the mark sometimes. The rub-on's are definitely easier to see. The logic of the Boris Wild system is strong when you are putting the marks on yourself - a single digit (usually) covers both the number and the suit of the card. Therefore, you can make a deck pretty quick, because you only have to put a single digit on either side of the card. This moves pretty fast. However, because the mark is now printed, the logic of the system is flawed. I can't quickly find the mark without (sometimes) really staring at the edge of the card. In contrast, you could have a printed mark in the same location for all the cards and it wouldn't be hard to locate - of course, now the deck would not be marked per the Boris Wild system.
I hope you get my (only mild) complaint here - the Wild marking system worked great primarily because it simplified the process required to do it yourself. But now that the marks are printed, it makes the system obsolete because you have to hunt around on the edge for the mark. I'm a little concerned about the low-light environments I work sometimes and being "under fire" having to hunt for the mark. I would have much preferred the cards were marked with, say, the Aronson stack numbers in the same location on every card. Enough whining. I'll just have to see how it goes . . . |

Alakazam Magic down in Kent are one UK dealer stocking these. I would imagine MagicBox in Newcastle as well as Mark Mason in Blackpool probably have them in stock too.

This deck comes with a super effect right out of 'Al Koran's Legacy' book. It is a supper effect. Years ago I bought a marked deck just to present this effect. The only difference is this discription leaves out the writing of the name of the cards on a slip of paper. I agree it is not needed and takes it out of the mentalism class type of trick.
