As anyone been able to make the effect quarte from Bloom? I have begin it and maybe we could share idea to achive this beautiful, but difficult to made, prop.

Do a search. I have made one and it was discussed before.

Here is what I wrote in 2003

I made one. And I am very happy with the results.

The frame I used was a cheap unfinished picture frame from a craft store. Do not think "school slate". All you are looking for is a squareish looking frame with wide 1" - 1 1/2" borders. You will be making your own "slate" so it really doesn't matter what is inside the frame when you buy it.

I did have to belt sand the frame so that it was thin enough to to allow the clothes pins to clip to the top edge.
