Does anyone have any experiance in performing this slight? I have been practising it and would like to know if my hours of work will be wasted... Do lay-people really not see it? Is it worth all of the effort to make the handling that clean?

Its not really a mainstream move. I doubt many people use it, I have never seen anyone personally except for a video of Masao doing it himself.
Whether you wasted your time or not depends on what you learned it for. If you learned it just to learn a move, then yes, you probably wasted your time. If you felt that it was the best move to use in a particular routine you wanted to do then, no, you did not waste your time. What do you do with it? |

At the moment just a 2/3 coins across, I'm hoping to get the Han Ping Chien with it too. I have a few routines that use it (from "5x5" and "The Modern Magic of Japan 1988") and would like to use it in place of the muscle pass in a production I already do. I think I will continue to practise and learn the move, after all, once I've got it I can use it.

The video showing Masao performing his move was not that impressive IMO. I don't mean to be unkind but as he does the move it looks like he's having a mild seizure. The move could be useful but it needs to be done in a way so there is less of a "tell."

At the MVD, there is kid that has a coins across routine that he calls, phoenix coins across and it is very clean and well executed to me, and the last coin is a beauty, he uses the M.A. for that last coin and......i suggest you guys check it out, you wont be disapponted.
Mano. P.S.just look for Phoenix coins across; I don't recall his name and I'm sorry for that. |

I have a couple of uses for it, and I know I've described these before at the Café. Try a search on "the Bullet".
The bare move done as a transfer is a tough thing to master. There is quite a lot that can be done, however, with the move under cover. I have had success with performing the move while the "propelling" hand holds a coin purse or a deck of cards, thus hiding any movement. Also, if there is an object covering the path of the coin this looks great. On the video, Masao does it under the cover of passing a card from the fingertips of one hand to the other. You don't see a thing. Think about using the spectator's hand or arm as cover. Imagine what you might do if you added this to "The Pulse Trick" from Bobo's. Using a hank also presents possibilities. And of course, there's always using it to fire a glass disc at a lightbulb, causing it to explode. Check it out--knucklebusting mentalism.
