I was thinkin'...if you are using the Axtell Arm Illusion....put a rare earth Magnet in the glove...the extra hand can then be used to 'hold things' whether metalic or with a well placed shim.

My wife and I were thinking about balloons. This might be more in the area of a sight gag than magic, but we like to include both in our programs.

At first we came up with putting a small tank with the nozzle under my arm pit.

Recently we thought about rigging an even smaller one for Nigels.

The sight of the balloon inflating would be give the audience fits, or would it just be "The Pits?"

Going up.......

Doug - Yes, I use the glove and I like the magnet idea. I'm not sure how or what to do with it. What about shims?

Harris - I like the balloon inflating, but how do you tie it with only one hand?

Hi ivfour...If you have a non metalic item or item that does not react to magnetic forces then you can adhere a metal disc, either glue it or sew it to the object to allow it to 'stick'. For a silly but obvious example, the 'other' glove that comes with the Arm Illusion...put a metal shim in it and the gaffed glove can 'hold it' when you take it off. Rare Earth magnets are small (discs and rods) come in many strengths (do a google) and have surprising holding power. Do not put two REMs together though in this case...you'll never get them apart without a struggle!

Of course you could instead put the shim in the Arm Illusion Glove and have an REM in whatever object you wish picked up or held.

IV IV....Thats Julius Ceasar Teeing off for golf isn't it...

Sorry about that.....

I have not gone as far as the tying of the balloon.

A quick thought is some sort of clip.

An on the spot assistant or volunteer could be brought in.

Any ideas...?

I have my Wizard puppet do a spot can routene, you could also use a change bag and have the puppet or an assistant from the audience pull out the item.
