I received yesterday Andrew Mayne new book – “Illusiontech”.
From going over this book I think it’s a grate book for those who are looking to build their illusions without spending too much money and getting some grate idea for old illusions in a new concept.

Is this the same guy who does the "Ghost Bills" trick through Ellusionist? I think it is him...and without searching through all my magic DVDs it sounds like he's the one. He did another illusion recently, something with food...right? He has good tricks, I've not yet learned his money ghost trick yet. Parts of the DVD are hard to see at certain angles.

Illusiontech Volume 1

Andrew Mayne

* Introduction
* Why I hate trick boxes
* Theory of illusion. the illusionist is a hacker, optical deceptions, observational deceptions, anatomy of an illusion.
* Clever Deceptions. Mental misdirection, the confusion illusion, hyperjump, the magic doorway, the acme packing case appearance, heavy metal, darklight.
* Strange contortion. The body is a mysterious thing, sawing a person in half, the $1.00 head twister effect, the sword basket, brain damage, the box of blades, umbrella cabinet.
* Secret Spaces. Hiding the body, the tip-over trunk, the modern cabinet, the cage illusion, the ghost box, the elongated man, masking depth, the trick base, fake base, how to fake a beveled base, the $99 beveled table, the crusher, other base applications, walking through a steel plate, beyond the base, the zero zone, deceptive steps, the elevated vanish.
* 7 things I learned working on a David Copperfield television special.

Lots of information, I really do like this book.

Compared to Eric Van Duzer's "The Seven Basic Secrets of Illusion Design" and Fitzkee's "TRICK BRAIN", which is better? Which one is more informative and comprehensive?

I recieved mine yesterday. Great book. Mr. Mayne makes lots of excellant points in the psychology of magic and illusion. He not only tells how but more importantly the why. Highly recommanded. Just my 2% of $1.00.
