Good book! but don't get it if
1. You need pictures to understand instructions 2. If you don't like doing the pass |

I too love these books. However I must say, it annoyed me that for most of the tricks, there isn't an actual description of the effect before explanation.
I find myself often reading through the explanation of the effect, only to realise it's a trick I don't want to perform. That's my only downside to this book though. Simon |

I am so lucky I got mind autographed by the Great Roy Walton. Maybe I should keep it in a safe better...
No, just kidding, I will read them all and learn from these great books!
Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018.

You can see Ricky Jay on youtube do Roy Waltons Three Card Monte routine the way it's written in his book. He is doing it for Arsenio Hall.

I have the original Walton books (volumes 1 and 2) from years ago when they were first published. Does anyone happen to know if any additional revisions were made to these newer versions? For example, I sometimes enjoy purchasing some of Harry Lorayne's re-releases because he has added some thoughts to books he wrote years ago. Did they do the same thing with The Complete Roy Walton books 1 and 2? Or is it simply a reprint with zero changes to the original published books? I've been using the content from those two books since the 1980s... great stuff!

From what I can tell, only the formatting is different. Tricks are on different pages and book itself has a different cover. Material is all the same. I purchased all three volumes about two years ago and have read through them multiple times. Each time I go back, I find more great material. Certainty Bet, Leave em Laughing, Travellers in Time, and Near Enough, are my personal favorites.

Anyone who passes up Roy’s books due to lack of pictures is an imbecile of the highest order. The writing is crystal clear and the tricks are simply sensational. You learn a new cracker (or three) every time you spend some time leafing through the pages.
The most amazing thing of all is how one man was able to come up with so much dynamite material, especially as the handlings tend to be economical and elegant. |

Each time I re-read any of the Walton books, I find something interesting/one I previously overlooked. They're probably my all time favorite card books. Karl Fulves put a few good Walton tricks that aren't in his Complete, in books such as the self working dover paperbacks, Epilogue and Chronicles.
